“Why’d you barge in knowing I’m busy? You’re a real buzzkill,” Jason muttered as he slowly buckled his belt, his face dark with displeasure.

“Ms. Bella, the navigation shows the road ahead is under construction. We’ll need to take a detour. Even with the car at full speed, it’ll take around twenty minutes!” Steven replied. He gripped the steering wheel so tightly that his knuckles turned white, and a thin sheen of sweat formed on his forehead.

“Damn it! It’s going to take another twenty minutes!”

Bella pounded her fist against the window, her almond eyes blazing like fire. “Now, we can only hope that the kidnappers’ objective isn’t to take Carrie’s life but something else. As long as they’re driven by greed, Carrie has a chance!”

Just then, Bella’s phone rang. It was a call from Yasmin.

Bella answered immediately, her voice frantic, “Yasmin, are you there already?!”

“Ms. Thompson, that woman tricked me!”

Yasmin panted, each word dripping with anger. “I’m at the abandoned factory in the western suburbs right now. I’ve searched the entire place thoroughly, but there’s no sign of Young Madam!”
