Adam had met Celine years ago.
Carly refused to believe it. She shook her head and shouted, "No, that's impossible! Celine, you're lying to me, aren't you?"
Celine looked at her with an amused smile. "Ms. Hampton, as the daughter of the wealthiest man in the Capitol, you might want to watch your manners and composure. Don't you think you're coming off a bit bitter?"
Carly stiffened.
The people around them turned their attention to Carly, whispering among themselves. "Does Ms. Hampton have a grudge against Linny? She looks like she can't stand seeing anyone else succeed."
"Ms. Hampton might be the lucky heir of a wealthy family, but Linny is the true heiress, born with a spotlight on her. She's the main character in her own life, and Ms. Hampton just can't compare."
"Not only is Ms. Hampton not as capable as Linny, but she isn't as pretty either. It's clear to see, and honestly, I can understand why Ms. Hampton's acting so out of it—she's jealous."
"Well, Ms. Hampton should've been more graceful about it. She represents the Hampton family now—she can't afford to embarrass them with such petty behavior."
As the murmurs grew louder, Carly's face turned deathly pale.
Just then, Melody snapped, "Celine, why didn't you tell us earlier that you were Linny? You did this on purpose to humiliate us, didn't you? You're so cruel!"
Celine looked at Melody with a hint of disbelief. "You all literally walked right into it. If I didn't take the opportunity, wouldn't I be disappointing you? And Melody, if I recall correctly, you weren't even invited to the Apex Gala. You just tagged along with Carly."
Melody froze. She had indeed only gotten in by tagging along with Carly.
At that moment, the event manager stepped up. "Ms. Alvarez, this is a prestigious gathering, and only qualified people are allowed to attend. I must ask you to leave immediately."
The organizer escorted Melody out.
Melody was stunned. She never expected that instead of Celine being the one kicked out, she would be the one escorted out.
Among the crowd, Melody spotted the wealthy bachelor who had asked for her number earlier. He looked her up and down, his gaze now filled with disdain.
The man who had once shown interest in her now saw her as beneath him.
Melody clenched her fists. "Celine, you—"
Celine smiled and addressed the event manager. "I think Ms. Alvarez doesn't want to leave on her own. Could you please escort her out?"
"Yes, Ms. Linny."

What a way for both Hayden and Lucy to go...
I'm so invested with this novel. Both Declan-Hailey and Celine-Adam's story. But, Declan and Hailey gives me more heartache. I thought they would get their happy ending after what Declan have been through. But just like what others said, maybe the author is very sad that's why she don't want her characters to be happy. 😭 Ewan is so evil...
This writer is very sad! Why should Ewan come back to hurt Declan!...
So let’s move to Celina and Adam...
Please take back to Celine and Adam's story !...
