The next day, Aaron returned to the military prison along with the other three. As they walked towards the end of that long corridor, the thick smell of blood and what not started to engulf their senses, that an ordinary person might puke at it.
All the prisoners in the cells were sunk back like scared rabbits and no one dared make a sound after they witnessed the cruelty the entire night. The screams of man which died down eventually, might haunt them the entire life. There was a dead silence as if not a single soul existed there despite having prisoners in the cells.
As they reached the end, a dead body of a man was lying on the floor, surrounded by blood, limbs seemed to be dislocated, the view as if the beasts had tried to tear him open. One could tell whatever must have transpired here was nothing but downright cruel.
Aaron faced the cell which had Elord imprisoned in it. The man barely breathing, and utter anguish seemed to engulf him as he had watched his son going through the cruelty. It was as if despite breathing, his soul had already died. his own tears and snot had dried along his face and he looked worse than even a lowly outcast beggar.
Aaron did not have an ounce of pity or any kind of emotions in his eyes as if he had long stopped feeling anything. All he knew was his revenge and for that he was going to go to any length-- a man with no emotions indeed.
"Seems like you have another tale to recite to others," Aaron cold and emotionless eyes echoed in that dead silent corridor. "Just the difference is that, it’s not you who fucked and killed someone innocent, but your pathetic son died while being fucked by others. I believe from here you saw each and every detail to recite it without a miss like how you still can recite how my sister died."
Elrod lifted his gaze to look at Aaron, but instead of anger, his eyes held despair, but no word could leave his mouth. His soul was broken and entirely shattered.
Lucian looked at Elrod as well. This man had killed his parents and he wished to kill him as well, but now seeing him he could tell he was worse than meeting his own demise.
Lucian glanced at Aaron, and wondered how hurt he must be when his ten year old self was watching his own parents and sister being killed mercilessly, which led him to be cruel to this extent and even now he was showing no trace of emotions at all. Lucian could not help but feel worried about his cousin, whether it was good to lack emotion to this extent.
"If you are done with your revenge, kill me already," Elrod finally spoke, his voice hoarse, weak and barely audible.
Aaron didn’t even bother to look at him, and turned to the next cell where a sacred man looked at him with wary gaze, his heart sinking as he glanced at his daughter who was scared to her bones and had not uttered a single word since the last night.
"Lord Wynter," the man, Luis, crawled forward to the cell bar. "I...beg you, please spare my daughter. I will do anything you say or you can kill us all right here, but don’t do this to my daughter."
Aaron didn’t even bother to look at Grace while he talked to Luis, "Then how about your two sons? Just like Zymer, I am sure you would enjoy their screams as well."
A shiver ran down his spine as well as his two sons who were in a nearby cell. The two could not imagine all that to happen with themselves as well. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
"Lord Wynter, though I had been cruel, you can ask anyone who had ever known me, I never disrespected or humiliated any woman and neither did my son," Luis defended, "I admit it was my mistake to let Elrod take away your sister and trust me after her death I regretted it. My wife was enraged that she even hated me for this, she hated me for what I did with both families and that was the reason she died early.
"At that time, I don’t know why I didn’t stop Elrod, but don’t take that out on my kids. Other than helping me rule the territory and having part in other illegal works and killing someone, they never did anything bad to a woman. You can set the enquiry for this. If any of us are guilty, you can surely punish us."
Aaron knew what Luis told was the truth. He was simply greedy for wealth and power and had no personal involvement in mistreating women.
"My sister’s unfair and cruel death weighs more than I can even bother to care about you," Aaron’s voice cold, unaffected by Luis’s pleading.
"I am ready to sacrifice myself," the eldest son, Adam spoke, "Spare my sister and brother and I will quietly accept what you want my father to see us suffer."
Aaron turned to look at him, "So brave, huh?"
"You are doing it to avenge your sister and I am doing it to protect mine," Adam straight looked at Aaron, "As a brother, I can understand your pain so I won’t call you on being wrong for avenging your sister, but that won’t stop me from protecting mine. You can do whatever you want with me, I am ready to suffer like how Zymer did.
