Dorothy was in the hospital until late in the evening, and it was at this time that Karen called to check on her. Unable to keep it a secret any longer, she confessed that she had been hospitalized.
Not long after, Karen and Abigail rushed to the hospital.
"Let's see what sort of jerk did this to you!" Karen shouted while bursting through the door.
"Hush! This is a hospital! Keep it down!" Dorothy quickly gestured for her to zip it with her index finger, shooting Karen a reassuring smile. "I'm okay. I'm still alive and kicking."
"But you were attacked, and you're saying you're okay? Dorothy, quit your job! It's too dangerous!"
Karen, with her hands on her hips, was raging at Dorothy's bedside, looking every bit ready to do whatever it took to get Dorothy to agree.
Dorothy knew Karen was just worried about her, but...
"Karen, I need money to recover that footage. If I don't earn enough, I give up my right to the truth!"
This was her mother we were talking about. The woman who struggled to raise her couldn't be allowed to die in vain, leaving her helpless without even a shred of evidence.
"You need money? It's easy. Just agree to date my cousin…"
"Karen!" Dorothy cut her off.
Karen pouted and turned away, visibly upset.
Even when she was in danger, she would hallucinate hearing his voice.
The more she thought about it, the more she realized she couldn't go on like this.
"Fine, whatever you decide, I will support you. Anyway, if you leave, I'm coming with you. My cousin is also abroad, so he can take care of me. You both can't get rid of me that easily!"

Why didn't Jeffrey call Everett from the office? Lock his door instruct security to not let anyone in and speak to Everett on the phone? Or send him a text giving him a quick summary of what's up and that he's on his way over. That way when he runs into Heather on his way out he informs her Everett already knows....
The children's stories are si boring. This book is like torture. I've put in so much time I have to see this through but it's becoming more difficult....
