Tangled Temptations novel Chapter 161

Once Eloise finished her words, she started crying.

She once had a thing for Harvey, maybe she still does now.

Even though he had a lot of flaws - a bad temper, introverted, and he was high maintenance – but Eloise knew in her heart.

She liked him!

But no matter how much she liked him, she had to protect herself first.

She didn’t want to get herself into trouble!

Harvey’s warm fingers gently wiped her tears, but the gentler he was, the harder Eloise cried… until she almost couldn’t control herself.

He simply pulled her into his arms and lit a cigarette.

Harvey leaned on the couch, slowly smoking. His handsome looks were a real catch.

Any woman could fall for him.

Eloise didn’t speak, just leaned in his arms and cried silently.

Her tears soaked his shirt, the damp warmth was actually a bit uncomfortable, but Harvey didn’t stop her.

He smoked half of his cigarette before he softly asked, “Can we give it another shot?”

“We can take it slow this time, and I don’t do anything you don’t want to do. I just want you to feel comfortable!”

……

Eloise didn’t respond.

Harvey knew what he meant to her.

He was actually very busy, he didn’t have a girlfriend before Eloise showed up, so he wasn’t desperate.

But when a woman he liked was at home every day and he did nothing, then he must be a fool, right?

Harvey probably guessed Eloise’s thoughts. He saw her going on dates with Callum, going to art exhibitions, watching fireworks… Harvey didn’t fancy these things.

He thought only kids would do such things.

But he was very grateful that Eloise only dated Callum for 10 days.

If it were Landon, it might be different.

Landon understood Eloise’s mind, he naturally knew how to coax her.

“Tomorrow… shall we go to a concert?”

Eloise didn’t want to.

She didn’t want to go out with him.

Harvey knew exactly how to treat Eloise, he lit another cigarette, took a deep puff, then gently said to her, “If you don’t want to date, shall we go to a hotel?”

Eloise got mad.

She stood up to leave, but Harvey stopped her, gently saying, “I’ll take you home! Wait for my call tomorrow, I’ll have my secretary book the tickets.”

This time, Eloise didn’t say anything.

She seemed to soften a bit…

Harvey felt tired, his goal wasn’t reached, but chasing a woman does take time.

He drove her back to her apartment.

He made it clear that he began to pursue her, behaving very considerately.

The next day when Eloise woke up, her white BMW was parked downstairs.

Harvey’s driver didn’t wake her up, but stood by the car waiting, Eloise felt a bit embarrassed.

She took the car keys, said thank you.

“Attorney Horigan told me not to wake you up.” The driver was tactful.

Eloise nodded, thanked him again.

She got in the car, then received a call from Michelle.

Michelle said on the phone that Harvey came to visit early in the morning and brought many expensive supplements.

Michelle didn’t know their current relationship.

So, she asked Eloise.

Eloise touching the steering wheel, softly said, “Just accept it!”

Michelle was very happy because she really liked Harvey and hoped that he and Eloise could end up together.

After hanging up the phone, Eloise looked at her phone, feeling a bit conflicted.

The gentle snowflakes softened the night, also brought their hearts closer.

Harvey knew just the right amount of push and pull.

He walked her upstairs but didn’t ask to stay the night.

When he was leaving, Eloise couldn’t help but walk to the window.

In the snowy winter night, every breath you take is white fog…

Harvey stood under the yellow streetlight, puffing on a cigarette against his gold Bentley, each exhale reeking of pure masculinity.

Eloise, cradling a cup of hot cocoa, watched him silently.

She thought, what a soft night.

After smoking two cigarettes, Harvey crushed the butts under his shoe, then looked up and locked eyes with Eloise.

Caught off guard, she found herself locked in his gaze...

Harvey gave a small smirk, oozing charm.

He waved at Eloise before getting into his car.

The gold Bentley didn't drive off immediately. After a while, Eloise received a text from Harvey.

"Miss me yet?"

……

The simple message kept Eloise up all night.

If that dark night didn't exist, she might have thrown herself into his arms.

She too had been seduced by his sweet nothings. Even though she was a bit scared, as a woman, she had needs. Harvey had been stringing her along for days now, and it was starting to get to her...

They'd been intimate many times before. She guessed he wouldn't let her off easy the day after tomorrow.

Eloise wasn't sure what she was looking forward to, but on Christmas Eve, she made sure to doll herself up.

Her champagne-colored dress hugged her body in all the right places. Over it, she wore a thin white down coat that, once removed, would reveal her alluring curves...

As she applied her makeup, Eloise's cheeks flushed. She was a bit disgusted with herself for being so forward.

She knew she was falling for Harvey's charm...
