Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 991

Since things had come to this, Jean could not blame Benedict anymore after all he had said and done.

Hence, they just awkwardly shook hands.

“It’s fine, it’s fine. Since you put it that way, I’ll be the bigger person and let bygones be bygones. But remember that I won’t tolerate it if they come out and do this again!”

Benedict nodded. “Don’t worry. I’ll keep a close eye on them. It’ll never happen again.”

There were no further issues and everyone stood up to leave, but Benedict stopped them with a grin. “They say that life is full of surprises, and I was indeed surprised to see you in Country T. Since you’re here, I feel that I, as a local, should take you sightseeing. If you plan to stay longer, then just hit me up. Think of it as an apology and as me doing my job.”

With that, he distributed his name card to them.

Jean gave it a once over and said, “We’ll be here for another two days, so we’ll let you know.”

Benedict nodded and the group left.

Outside the bar, Gideon and Jean parted ways since they came with different cars. Mr. Donnelly was also headed in a different way, so after saying his goodbyes, he hopped into his car and left.

After everyone scattered, Gideon and Nell stayed in their car.

Nell exclaimed exasperatedly, “I can't believe that this trip ended up in such a mess. I thought we could peacefully go out for once.”

Gideon nodded. “It was…unexpected.”

Curious, Nell asked, “Speaking of which, Benedict gave off a really weird aura. He had such a positive and upright personality. Why would he come all the way here to open a shady-looking bar?”

He looked at her. “He probably has a story he can't tell anyone, but I’m not too sure either. When we were in university, although we were quite close, we lost touch after graduation. So, I’m not sure what he has gone through over the years.”

Oh,” Nell said and just nodded. "But it's such a shame for a great talent like him to be hidden away in a place like this."

Gideon grasped her hand. "Alright, enough worrying about other people. How are you feeling? Is the baby okay? Were you scared?"

She shook her head and smiled. "I'm perfectly fine. Your son is very obedient and doesn't bother me. Relax."

He hugged her and returned her smile.

When they got back to the hotel, he was still worried despite Nell's reassurance and called Sean over to give Nell a checkup.

Sean and Cathy had not slept the whole time due to worry, and they rushed over when they found out that the couple had returned.

When Jean went back to her room and never came back out, Nell told them what happened.

The two were shocked to think that something like this could happen!

Sean and Cathy sighed in relief. "Thank God you guys are alright. We were so worried. We wouldn't have known what to do if something happened in this unfamiliar place."

Nell smiled and patted her arm. "Mom, we're all fine. Don't worry. It was just a misunderstanding."

Gideon agreed, "Yes. Your body isn't in the best of health, so it's better that you rest up. We're fine here."

Embarrassed, Sean and Cathy excused themselves and went back to their room.

Nell was still stunned. Even after they left, her brain was still a blur, and the words that Sean said earlier echoed in her mind.

Gideon pinched her face when he saw her dumbstruck expression. "Nelly, what's on your mind? Aren't you pleased too?"

Nell looked up at him and finally snapped back to her senses with a gloomy expression. "Happy? But they’re twins! We already have two children in the house, so adding two more…"

Needless to say, she was already thinking about the torture that awaited her in the future. It was not that she disliked children but, imagine a house with four children, and the chaos.

When he sensed her worries, he enveloped her in a warm hug. "Don't worry. I'll be there to help you. I won't let them bother you. These are our children, Nelly. They're proof of our love and I'm so happy to have them."

Nell was not exactly unhappy by any means. No mother would be unhappy about having twins. It was like winning the grand prize twice in a row. It was luck!

She could not help but smile at that point.

She leaned into Gideon's embrace and softly said, "Are you hoping for boys or girls?"

Gideon responded quietly, "I'll love them regardless."

Nell raised an eyebrow at him before grinning. "I hope for girls. Girls are so nice. They're sweet and cute, just like Lizzy."

Gideon smiled softly. "Either is great. If we have girls, they can become the little princesses of the Lieth family. If we have boys, they can grow up to help me protect you. Isn't it nice either way?"
