"He should be kind, generous, be tight-lipped, be good to my family members and treat me well. His family must never treat me as if I owed them. They should treat me the same way they treat their own daughters.
After all, I can’t suffer just because I am a daughter-in-law. Before I met their son, I was and still am my parents’ precious daughter. If he can’t make that happen, then I would rather remain single or recruit a son-in-law like what my sister plans to do!"
Diamond had drilled Ruby that she cherishes her life and loves herself so much. Why should she suffer because of a man?
She might cry because things didn’t go well for her, but to be abused and tolerate that. She wouldn’t allow that.
Sean was dumbfounded when he heard that. He wasn’t expecting her to say something so profound and sensitive.
There was something about families like theirs that was different from Ruby’s family. It was something that Ruby perhaps would never understand, but he didn’t plan to share that with her. After all, that might make her not give him a chance at all.
Growing up as part of the six big families. It’s not as easy as it sounds or looks. Others only see how rich and good life is for them. But do they know what truly happens inside the huge mansions where they live?
Sean wanted to cry and lament when he heard the last part. His mother was truly a scary woman. It wasn’t her fault, after all, she was raised that way by her grandmother, who was tough as nails.
If Ruby was to meet with his mother, he could already foresee a drama folding. He couldn’t let his mother know that he was interested in Ruby lest she find her and then things don’t go the way his mother expects.
He couldn’t remain silent while she talked, so once she said the last part, he spoke, throwing question, "what if the guy doesn’t have all the qualities that you have mentioned?" feeling a bit nervous.
Ruby chuckled as she put the glass of water on the table before answering, "We are not perfect. I don’t expect him to have all these, but at least he should possess the major ones. And oh, he isn’t allowed to cheat.
I am not the kind of girl who will take back a cheating man just because he is sorry. If he wants me, then he should dedicate himself to me and no other women. I don’t have such a thing as a female best friend.
Whilst that might look simple to you guys, as girls we know our colleagues pretty well. There are always secret wars whenever we meet and yet you get fooled because you have been with them for a long time.
What they show around you is different entirely from what they show whenever they are with their best friends’ girlfriends. Some of these girls love you guys so much but don’t dare confess. So, if my boyfriend has such a best friend, I would rather pass. I am too temperamental to be that tolerant!"
Ruby shuddered at the thought of such a thing happening. This was a common problem in relationships. These female best friends were so good at being green teas, that it was hard to defeat them.
They would rather damage their male best friends’ relationships than allow him to settle with one.
Sean’s eyes widened when he heard that.
"There is something like that?" he couldn’t believe his ears.
Ruby, upon seeing that, couldn’t help but shake her head in wonder. Where was this guy living?
In the end, she gave him several life examples, which got his head spinning.
"Such things happen? I didn’t know!"
"That’s why you need to be closer to your sisters. You can learn a lot of tricks from them. They will help you differentiate between good and bad!" Ruby teasingly said as she looked at him.
Sean chuckled faintly when he heard that and nodded while answering, "I guess that’s true. I need to learn more."
"You will. So, what about you? What kind of girl do you like?" she curiously asked, interested in knowing his tastes.
After all, a person can’t just say that he likes a person because the other part is good-looking. People don’t eat appearances. The character of the person mattered a lot.
Sean was at a loss when he heard that.
’Why is she suddenly asking that question?’ that flashed in his mind when he heard her question.
Still, he had to answer otherwise, she might look down on him and that would be truly bad.
