Lostrus, Kingdom of Rozinya
Sayang City
Inside a large office, a tall man stood by the floor-to-ceiling window smoking a cigarette, the smoke rings rising in the air, as he looked at the snow that was falling to the ground.
"What are you thinking about? Do you miss home, or perhaps a certain someone?"
As the man was smoking, lost in thoughts, these questions jolted him back to reality, he couldn’t help but snub the cigarette and turned around to face the person who dared say something like that.
When his eyes locked onto the person, ’badum, badum, badum,’ his uneasy heart started betraying him.
He knew and understood that crazy thumping perfectly well. It was a feeling that had accompanied him for nearly half of his life.
That’s how much his heart had been aching for him, hoping that one day, the other would look at him the way he secretly does.
But when he thought of how the other only had that person in his heart and didn’t even suspect the torch that he had been carrying for so many years. He felt like an idiot.
Just listen to him talking about missing a certain someone. How could he miss her when the person that he had always missed and pined for was sitting right in front of him and yet he couldn’t even confess his feelings?
Wyatt felt like a fool. He was a fool to fall for someone who would always treat him like a best friend, a brother, and a business partner.
But perhaps he was lucky, at least in these three capacities he gets to be closer to the person he fell for at first sight.
In all his twenty-seven years, Nolan was the first person that he fell in love with.
Sometimes he wondered if he was gay and different. To test that, he went to gay clubs and tried to flirt with both men and women, but at the end of the day, he realized that his heart thumped like that for one person.
If he was gay, then it was only for Nolan and no other man. As for being straight, wasn’t that too late when Nolan unknowingly bent him to his will?
Unfortunately, this busy man, who had barely rested since his return, had no clue.
Just like him, Nolan had someone in his heart and Wyatt prayed every single day for that person to not show up. He never liked that person, so he would be eternally grateful if his prayer got answered.
"What’s there to miss at home?" Wyatt shrugged as he walked towards Nolan who had several plain papers spread across the desk.
Nolan looked at him questioningly, as if he didn’t believe what Wyatt had just answered and Wyatt saw that.
He chuckled faintly as he sat across Nolan replying, "It’s suffocating there!" the light in his eyes dimmed as he said that.
Nolan’s eyes flickered for a moment as he clenched his fists before calming his emotions.
"It won’t be like that anymore. Isn’t Diamond there, now?"
When Wyatt heard that, a smile broke onto his face.
He had nearly forgotten about this new friend he idolized much.
"Indeed, she is now there. Too bad she is a busy person!" he clicked his tongue as he thought of how busy Diamond was when she was on vacation.
Bringing Diamond up, the two friends couldn’t help but chuckle as memories surfaced.
