Strawford City
"Pi di, pa da," the sound of footsteps filled the room, which was beautifully decorated.
From the majestic and lifelike paintings hanging on the wall, the ceramic vases placed in several visible corners and spaces and the glass wall that made up half of the room.
Anyone could tell that not only the room but the house as a whole was on another level. Whoever was living in that house was obviously loaded and people that others needed to keep a lookout on.
At that moment, the person walking didn’t stop in the room but passed through as she walked towards another room.
Inside the other room, black sectional sofas, black carpet, a mini-table and a huge screen TV were in the room.
Lying on the other side of the sofa were two young girls holding their phones as if their life depended on it.
When the incoming person walked in, she came across the girls busy on their phones, giggling at one point and frowning at the other.
The TV was switched off and she could tell that the two had not switched it in the first place.
"Girls! What are you up to? I have been looking for you for a while!" the woman asked curiously as she walked towards the sofa where the girls were lying.
Upon hearing that, the girls raised their heads as they looked at the woman before they both smiled. freeweb\n(o)v.e\l.com
"Mother! You are awake!" one of the girls with red hair exclaimed happily upon seeing the woman.
The woman who was called mother sat on the other side of the sofa and looked at her daughters dotingly, "Precious and Patience. What are the two of you up to so early in the mounting?"
When the girls heard that, they stuck their tongues at their mother.
Patience, being the wild one as always, was the first to respond. "Mom, we are checking Diamond’s page. She is doing pretty well for someone who created an account, three to four days ago!"
The twins’ mother looked at her girls and began to regret ever allowing the girls to follow that stranger back to her home.
Just what exactly did she feed them for her naughty girls to become so dedicated to her?
"Don’t you know how to talk about other things?" Anita pouted sulkily upon seeing how her daughters were more concerned with someone else and not her.
"Come on, mom! Don’t tell me that you are jealous?" Precious stuck her tongue at her mother upon seeing how childish she was acting.
Anita shrugged her shoulders as she showed a helpless expression. "How can I not be jealous at a time like this?"
"Hehe, didn’t we return home to you?"
"Hehe, don’t act as if you wanted to come back home. If we hadn’t threatened you, I think you would have followed her to her hometown!" Anita laughed at the thought of that.
"Haha, she knows us well!" Patience whispered to Precious.
"I heard you!" Anita called out to her kids, who were acting as if she wasn’t around.
The room was filled with laughter as the mother and daughters teased each other relentlessly.
While they were busy playing around, another person entered the room dressed in a black suit, making him look very handsome and refined.
Upon sensing that someone else had entered the room, the three females all stopped what they were doing and looked at the person that just entered.
"Mother, good morning!" the man had just walked in and greeted Anita with a smile on his face.
When Anita saw him, a smile blossomed on her face.
"Dean, dear, what are you doing here today?" Anita asked in surprise.
She wasn’t expecting to see her son so early in the morning at the main house. Dean was always busy with work and with her husband delegating some of the work to him, he was a busy person.
Dean didn’t get offended when his mother asked about that. He knew perfectly well why she was surprised. It was rare for him to come to the main house, especially in the mornings.
Most of the time, he would come during weekends and if he found time, once in a while during the week, but around dinner.
Dean found a space on the sofa and settled there.
"I just received a report and decided to come and share it with you," he calmly responded as his gaze shifted to the twins, who were making funny faces at him.
Seeing them like that, a smile hung on his lips. They were very active and childish as always, but he liked them that way.
They were the family’s princesses and were born to be spoiled and pampered.
