The last moment of the day that was supposed to end with a bang was spoiled, and Diamond was frustrated about it.
When she lay in bed that night, she didn’t sleep for a long time as she thought about life, but after doing so, the conclusion remained the same.
She wasn’t going to allow anyone to stop her from walking down the path that she had chosen.
Why go for a single tree when there was a forest waiting for her to claim?
After sorting out her thoughts, Diamond threw Rita out of her mind and finally went to sleep.
The next morning, the ringing of her phone woke her up.
She groggily opened her eyes, as they felt heavy. Since she had slept pretty late and someone was calling her early in the morning, she wasn’t in the right space.
"Andrea, who is calling?" she asked with gritted teeth, angry at being disturbed by her beauty sleep.
[It’s Sullivan.]
"Oh!" she said after hearing Andrea; however, her eyes weren’t listening to her.
[Should I answer?]
"No, just reduce the volume. I will call him back. I want to sleep!" she rejected as she threw her head back onto the comfortable pillow.
Shortly after that, Diamond couldn’t hear a single sound, so she returned to sleep once more.
By the time she woke up, she cussed so much that she took a hurried shower.
[You will only agitate your body by doing so. I think that you need to calm down.] Andrea advised after hearing Diamond fuming non-stop from the second that she woke up.
"Heh, how can I not be angry? Just look at the time!" Diamond felt like crying as she glared at the clock on the wall.
Who would have thought that after returning to sleep after ignoring Sullivan’s call, she would wake up in the afternoon?
It was simply too ridiculous for her. And when she thought of how she must have made him wait and made him feel as if he was ignored, she wanted to tear herself up.
[Then you should have slept early!]
"I wish. Can’t a girl think?"
[You can think all you want but mother, have you forgotten something?]
Diamond was puzzled after hearing Andrea’s question. f\r(e)ewe.b no\vel.com
"What the heck are you talking about?" she couldn’t help but ask curiously since she didn’t understand what Andrea was getting at.
[How long did it take you to become the Diamond you are today?]
Diamond scratched her chin upon hearing that as her mind did a quick calculation. "Around eight months."
[How much money do you currently have?]
"Uhm, billions!" she answered unsurely, as she wasn’t sure how much she owned.
With Andrea managing her accounts, Diamond had never bothered to look at them. After all, the bank cards that she carried with her always had a lot of money, which was enough to take care of her daily needs.
[How many women around your age are as rich as you?]
"Not sure, but they shouldn’t be many."
[You are the only rich young woman, a first-generation rich woman in Athary and the whole of Orkney right now. In other words, mother, have faith in what you do and your choices. Why should you allow a stranger to affect you and your choices?]
"Andrea, you_"
[Only your family is allowed to persecute you and put you in a tight spot, but no other people. Don’t force yourself to befriend people who don’t believe in what you do. What’s the point of having them when they could backstab you in the future?]
Diamond was shocked, surprised, in disbelief, and above all touched as she listened to Andrea.
That was the first time that Andrea had talked for a long time and without scolding her. To think that she was receiving advice from A.I. felt funny, but at the same time, she felt blessed.
Andrea was an android who knew her pretty well and more than she knew herself. He was in charge of everything, and who knew what else he was doing when she wasn’t dealing with him?
[If worse comes to worst, how about I help you connect with potential friends that you can click with?]
"Can you do that?" Diamond asked with disbelief in her tone, as Andrea’s suggestion really took her by surprise.
[Yes, all I need to do is find women around your age with similar interests and we will continue from there.]
Upon hearing that, Diamond clapped her hands happily.
"Son! Hahaha, mother didn’t dote on you for nothing. You better start on that and find me a few from Frin. It will be bothersome if I have to travel every time to see a friend."
[I will start on that shortly. So, are you feeling well now?]
