Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 1933

Upon seeing Remy enter, Audrey remained silent with a stern expression.

Remy sensed that the atmosphere in the room was different, and knew that Elisa and Audrey probably had another quarrel while he was seeing Julian off.

He pretended not to know what was going on and walked back to Elisa. He told Audrey, “Mrs. Stone, Julian has left.”

After pursing her lips, Audrey finally replied, “I see. Did you ask him what he meant?”

“Julian did not speak the truth.”

Remy answered honestly, “He asked us to keep it a secret from Mr. Bucham, so as not to let him come and propose marriage.”

Audrey teased him, “You’re honest to a fault. Parroting whatever Julian said without missing a word. Aren’t you worried I might agree to Mr. Bucham’s proposal?”

“Mom.”

Elisa immediately spoke up. “I only love Remy. We are in love with each other. Even if Mr. Bucham comes to propose, I won’t agree. You marry him then, if you agree to his proposal.”

Audrey was silent.

Elisa took out her phone and called her father. When he answered, she said, “Dad, where are you? When are you coming back? When you come back, please buy Mom a bouquet of flowers, a set of jewelry, and a new bag to make her happy.”

“Elisa.”

Audrey chuckled. “I’m not envious of you at all. Darrell, don’t listen to whatever your daughter says. Just come back home safely. You don’t have to buy anything. We are an old couple. What do we need flowers for?”

It was not even their wedding anniversary.

Only on her birthday or their wedding anniversary would Darrell be romantic and give his wife a bouquet of flowers and jewelry.

As they got out of the house, Elisa said to the man beside her, “Please pay Julian no mind, Remy. He’s just messing around. I won’t fall in love with him, and neither will he fall for me, so don’t worry.”

Remy held her hand tightly and said in a deep, husky voice, “No matter if he’s serious or not, I won’t let go, Elisa.”

She said that if he stayed, then she would not leave.

He heard that as well.

He felt the same way. As long as she did not give up on him, he would not leave her. Even if she wanted to give up on him, he would still try his best to save the relationship.

“Don’t take my mother’s words to heart. She actually thinks highly of you.”

Elisa pulled Remy toward his car. She spoke up for her mother as she was afraid that Remy would resent her mother. After all, he was only met with disapproval from Audrey.
