Chapter 141

Chapter 141

Victoria looked at the two men in front of her, she crossed one leg over the other, posture perfectly poised, her gaze icy and assessing. The cold elegance of her expression masked the fury simmering just beneath. She shifted slightly, red nails tapping restlessly on the carved wooden arm of her chair.

You do realize,Victoria began slowly, voice deceptively calm, that you’ve just brought war directly to our doorstep.

Nico leaned casually against the mantelpiece, feigning indifference, his face halfilluminated by the firelight. Mikael, on the other hand, stood stiffly near the window, eyes narrowed, tension radiating from every angle of his body.

It was inevitable,Mikael replied dismissively, not meeting her gaze. Dominic’s power was unchecked. He had to be put in his place.

Victoria’s laugh was short and sharp, edged with disbelief. Unchecked? You think bringing that girl here Dominic’s personal obsession and toy is the way to weaken him? All you’ve done is ignite something far worse.”

Mikael turned sharply, his jaw tight. Careful how you speak to me, Victoria, I won’t tolerate disrespect.

She lifted an elegant brow, her mouth twisting into a small, bitter smile. Disrespect? You think this is about respect? I’m talking about survival. Something neither of you seem particularly good at right now and you are thinking of respect. Pfft. Men!she rolled her eyes.

Her gaze slid slowly to Nico, who was watching her intently, eyes cold yet curious.

You,she murmured softly, almost mockingly. What’s your excuse? Mikael’s blinded by pride and ambition, but you-Her eyes narrowed, her voice hardening. You wanted the girl all to yourself.”

Nico’s lips curled into a faint, bitter smirk. He said nothing, letting her accusation hang between them, almost amused by the anger in her voice.

Victoria leaned forward, gaze piercing. You actually like her, don’t you?

Like?Nico repeated, feigning surprise, his tone lazy and dismissive. Let’s not pretend you know what that even means.

Victoria laughed sharply, shaking her head. Oh, this is rich. I feel like we’ve traveled back in timeexcept back then, the two of you were fighting over me. Now, instead of the daughter of the hotel heiress family, you’re squabbling over Dominic’s little plaything. A thing that her family doesn’t even want..”

Her voice dripped with disdain, each word carefully chosen to sting. The girlAriais nobody. She’s a useless dancer with no skills, no influence. She can’t help you secure your empire or strengthen your alliances. Yet here we are, watching you two fools wage war over someone completely insignificant.

Nico’s gaze hardened slightly, but he still refused to speak.

Mikael sighed irritably. We’re not fighting over her, Victoria. We’re using her. She’s leverage, nothing more.

Oh, please,Victoria snapped. Don’t patronize me. If she were just leverage, you wouldn’t be bickering like lovesick teenagers about who gets to keep her.

Mikael glared at her, his voice dangerously low. Watch your tone, Victoria.”

She rose to her feet gracefully, meeting his glare headon. No, you watch your actions. You’re playing a dangerous game- both of you. Dominic De Luca is relentless, and you’ve taken the one thing he values most. The moment he can move again, he’ll hunt you both down, burning everything and everyone in his path.”

Nico stepped away from the mantelpiece, finally breaking his silence. Dominic isn’t invincible.

Victoria tilted her head slightly, studying Nico as though she were seeing him clearly for the first time. No, he’s not invincible. But he’s motivated. Obsessed. And you’ve given him a reason to destroy us all. Congratulations.

She paused, a heavy silence settling between them, then looked back at Mikael. She needs to go. Tonight. Get rid of her.

Mikael frowned. She stays until Dominic breaks.

Victoria’s eyes flashed dangerously. I said, get rid of her. She’s a threat, a distraction, and a liability. Her presence here only guarantees our downfall.

Mikael started to argue again, but Nico stepped forward, his voice calm and measured. Why?

Victoria’s eyes narrowed at him, irritation clear. Why what?

Nico met her gaze firmly. Why does she need to go so urgently? What exactly do you know that we don’t?

Victoria laughed bitterly, shaking her head slowly. You really have no idea who she is, do you?

Nico’s brows drew together slightly. She’s Aria MontelDominic’s little dancer. Nothing more.”

Victoria stared at him a moment, incredulous, before she shook her head in disbelief. God, you’re clueless. She’s not just some dancer. She’s a Fletcher.

Nico’s expression faltered slightly, confusion flickering across his eyes. Mikael, too, stiffened visibly.

What did you say?Mikael murmured, voice suddenly tight, cautious.

You heard me,Victoria said, her voice dropping into a nearwhisper as though saying the name aloud was dangerous in itself. Aria Montel’s real name is Aria Fletcher. You two idiots have kidnapped a member of the Fletcher familythe very people Dominic went to great lengths to keep her away from. And now you’ve placed her directly into your house. The Fletcher family will come for her, and believe methey’re not known for their mercy. But as of right now thank your Gods that they don’t even remember her face.

A tense silence filled the room as Mikael and Nico exchanged glances. For the first time, real fear flickered in Mikael’s eyes.

The Fletchers?Nico repeated slowly, as though testing the weight of the name on his tongue.

Victoria nodded slowly, her eyes hardening. They’re ruthless, powerful, and notoriously protective of their bloodline. Arial was hidden for a reason. Dominic protected her identity because he knew what would happen if anyone found out who she truly was.

Mikael clenched his jaw, staring at the floor. Why the hell didn’t you tell us this sooner?

Victoria’s eyes flashed, anger sparking dangerously. Maybe because I assumed the two men who constantly pride themselves on knowing every detail of every operation would have done their research before kidnapping Dominic De Luca s obsession. Excuse me for assuming you had basic competence.

Nico clenched his fists, frustration evident in his stance. We can still control this-

Victoria cut him off sharply. No. You can’t. The second the Fletchers find outand they willthis house will be ashes. You two have signed our death warrants.

Mikael turned to Victoria sharply, eyes narrowing. We’ll contain this. We’ll move herhide her somewhere they can’t find her.

Victoria laughed bitterly. You truly believe it’s that simple? The Fletchers make Dominic look like a saint. If you don’t get rid of her by sunrise, they’ll already know. They’ll already be mobilizing.

Nico hesitated. Dominic managed to hide her for years. We can do the same-

Victoria’s patience snapped. Dominic loved her enough to move heaven and earth, to place a fortress of secrecy around her. You two don’t even have the slightest idea what love is. You barely managed to get her here without blowing your cover. You think you can hide her now?

The room went silent again, the only sound the soft crackle of the fire in the hearth.

Victoria turned away, heading for the stairs, but paused, her hand resting lightly on the banister. She glanced back over her shoulder, eyes sharp as blades.
