Chapter64
At dinner time, Reginald brought up the project he hadn’t
mentioned before.
“Next month there’s a design competition at Steyca Village, are
you going to participate?”
After taking a sip of the old duck soup, Adelaide nodded
without hesitation, “I’ll join.”
Reginald thought she would be interested.
“I aimed for the first prize, so I could invest and win–win.”
“Can I not go as Alicia, is that okay?”
“It’s your own business, I just want you to win first prize.”
“Got it, all set.”
Adelaide wasn’t nervous at all, because Reginald knew this was
one of her strong points in architectural design.
Reginald was replying to messages on his phone after eating
about 70-80% full, not moving, because Adelaide was still
eating, indirectly keeping her company.
Adelaide thought he was just replying to messages, so she didn’t

bother to move. But feeling awkward, she took a few more bites
and hastily finished.
Her actions didn’t escape Reginald’s eyes.
“Did I rush you to eat faster?”
“I was full,” Adelaide shook her head to explain.
Reginald had his left hand casually resting on his thigh while
holding his phone, his eyes shining with a hint of helplessness,
“Adelaide, why do you make me feel like I could eat you up.”
Adelaide was embarrassed and greeted with a polite smile, “No,
I’m really full.”
Reginald should have been used to her fake politeness, but the
more he saw her, the more he wanted to tear off the woman’s
mask.
Being stared at like that, Adelaide felt like a tasty prey being
targeted by a fierce beast. She was a bit nervous. “Mr. Thorton,
if there’s nothing wrong, then what about me?”
“There’s something else I need to tell you,” Reginald had to once again suppress the urge to possess her, his voice lowering a few
notches. “Do you remember Arianna?”
She definitely remembered.
When Arianna Cohen was working part–time as a vocal
teacher, she met the most talented and well–off student. And it was at the Cohen’s villa that she caught the eye of Reginald.
She still remembers, Reginald used to call Arianna’s father bro every time they met.
“Didn’t she already go abroad?”
“She went back to her country!”
Adelaide had a feeling that Reginald wouldn’t just randomly bring up Arianna.
Reginald said nonchalantly, Just listen to me.
“The overseas study environment caused her a lot of pressure,
so the Cohen family brought her back to prevent any accidents. Arianna is not doing well right now, keeping everyone at a distance. The only time she asked her parents was to hope that
you could still be her vocal teacher.”
“Just now Roderick Cohen messaged me. He knows you work
