Chapter32
Adelaide’s expression was more stiff.
Reginald rushed out, didn’t he?
That’s just about her business…
As everyone was analyzing different hypotheses, Mara suddenly had a thought. “Wasn’t Adelaide supposed to come back with the boss?”
Everyone suddenly realized, Oh yeah.
Adelaide froze for a moment when suddenly called the center
of attention..
Jorge leaned in and whispered, “Adelaide, did you notice anything off about the boss when you came up with him?”
Adelaide was about to speak when Nathan suddenly appeared
and said, “Ms. Pierce, Mr. Thorton wants you to go to his office.”
“Great!” Adelaide immediately got up and ran away.
Walking into the office, Reginald had just hung up the phone.
He asked, “Mr. Thorton, what can I do for you?”
He put down his phone, “Spencer was checking on me.”
Adelaide’s face looked surprised for a moment.
Reginald leaned back in his office chair, looking very casual, as if he was just chatting with her. He asked, “Do you want me to be found by him, or do you not want me to be found by him?”
It’s not hard to guess why Spencer checked on her, for sure he got suspicious after Reginald intercepted his two attempts to send people to her.
It’s obvious that Reginald wasn’t afraid of being checked, otherwise he wouldn’t have joked and thrown the question at
her.

Thinking about this, she said, “As long as Mr. Thorton is happy.”
Reginald raised an eyebrow, and his response caught him off guard. He joked, “Aren’t you afraid of being caught getting close
to me?”
She didn’t know what he was up to. The more nervous and guilty she acted, the more excited he became.
Adelaide said, “You’re my boss, isn’t it weird to get so close?”
A moment later, he nodded, “Hmm… makes sense.” The man’s
thin lips curved into a smile, and his penetrating gaze made Adelaide feel a bit trapped, but she still pretended to be calm.
Reginald seemed to have thought about it again, then he said,
“But I suddenly feel like keeping a bit of mystery is also nice
Adelaide’s eyelids twitched twice, seeing the man’s cunning smile like a fox, she instinctively knew he must be up to something. But she couldn’t be bothered to be curious, anyway sooner or later she would be found out working for him.
She smiled, “Is there anything else, Mr. Thorton? If not, I’ll go back to work.”
