Chapter 22
Spencer’s gaze was dark and fierce, his grip tightening. “Do you
think our family wouldn’t have Adele’s back?”
Garrett’s face turned purple. He clutched at Spencer’s arm,
unable to make a sound.
Adelaide looked at the now–open door, then turned back
toward them. Seeing Garrett’s worsening condition, she finally
spoke, “Spencer, are you trying to strangle him to death?”
Only then did Spencer regain his composure and release his
hand. He turned toward Adelaide, his face returning to its usual
gentle and refined look. “Adele, are you hurt?”
She stepped back, refusing to let him touch her.
Behind them, Garrett steadied himself against the wall and
protested angrily, “Spencer, this is between me and my wife.
Don’t you think you’re overstepping?”
“Your wife?” Those words disgusted Spencer. “You’re playing
with both of my sisters, and you think their big brother
shouldn’t interfere?”
Garrett gritted his teeth.

“Adele will divorce you. If you say no, I’ll make sure you lose the thing you care about most. Don’t test me,” Spencer threatened.
Garrett clenched his fists. “I won’t be scared by that crap.”
“Oh yeah?” Spencer sneered and suddenly turned. “Adele.”

warned, “You’ve already chosen Mandy“,
“I haven’t!” Garrett struggled furiously. “I want to go after my
wife!”
“Oh really?” Spencer sneered. “Did you forget what you
promised my father?”
Garrett remained silent.
“Given that you will continue to be my brother–in–law, I’ll give

you a piece of advice. Do yourself a favor and divorce Adele” Spencer said slowly and clearly.
Garrett suddenly calmed down and sneered, “You’re just dying
for me to divorce Adele so you can have her, aren’t you?
Spencer, Adele has always seen you as a brother. Don’t you
think she’ll be disgusted when she finds out how you really
feel?”
Spencer narrowed his eyes. “That’s none of your concern. All
you need to do is divorce Adele and go be with Mandy.”
“In your dreams. Adele and I are just having a fight. We
promised to spend the rest of our lives together!”
Spencer let out a cold laugh and punched him in the face.
Garrett crumpled to the floor at his feet. Spencer looked down
arrogantly. “Let’s see if you’ve got what it takes to actually be
