Chapter184
She went to the bathroom, washed her hands, and came out.
Garrett, who had a furrowed brow, finally relaxed, put on a
smile, and held her hand again. “Let’s go.”
Adelaide really wanted to let go of his hand, but he just couldn’t.
She was even more unwilling to just walk away like that.
“I wanted to eat something.”
“What do you want to eat?”
“Simmered skewers.”
Garrett frowned after hearing it, “Not nutritious.”
Adelaide got angry, “When did you become as picky as Spencer, always nagging about whether my food is nutritious or not!”
As soon as he was compared to Spencer, Garrett immediately gave in, saying, “Okay okay okay, I was wrong. You can eat
whatever you want. Let’s go.”
The two of them went to the shop selling simmered skewers. She ordered a family set, and Garrett paid.
When the boss lady handed the simmered skewers to Adelaide,

she couldn’t help but take a good look at her face, “Girl, you look
so familiar, like..”
“The money has been paid.” Garrett interrupted her with a cold
face and pulled Adelaide, saying, “Let’s go.”
“I swear I’ve seen you somewhere before,” the landlady called
out again, her gaze fixed on Adelaide.
Adelaide felt a bit lucky inside, she was sure the landlady
wouldn’t talk nonsense, so she kept looking back at her, hinting
at her: Where did you see me?
When they were completely gone, the landlady had a sudden
flash of inspiration, “Oh, I remember now!”
Adelaide was forced back into the passenger seat, and Garrett
put handcuffs back on her.
Seeing his abnormal expression, Adelaide mocked, “Even if you
handcuff me and you drive, I can still beat you up, right?”
Garrett lifted his eyelids and said, “You won’t, because you
won’t die in the car with me.”
Adelaide sneered, “Yeah, I didn’t want to die with you.”
Garrett: “Well, we didn’t die, we’ll always be together in this
lifetime.”

Upon hearing this, Adelaide felt nauseous.
She didn’t want to say anymore, afraid that she wouldn’t be able
to eat this simmered skewers.
And then, the car drove out of the service area.
After finishing eating, Adelaide reclined her seat and chose to
sleep.
Seeing her so obedient and well–behaved, Garrett was in a great mood, focused on driving, just hoping to get to Jastrain as soon
as possible.
Adelaide didn’t sleep well until the sunlight outside the car
window came in, the light made her uncomfortable, and she
had to open her eyes.
“Are you awake?” Garrett asked gently.
Adelaide ignored him and just fixed her seat. Looking out the
window, she knew they had left Evercrest far, far behind.
A moment later, she said, “I’m going to brush my teeth and wash
my face.”
Garrett said, “Just hold on a little longer, we’ll reach the next rest
