Chapter142
Garrett was shaking with anger; about to struggle, when
Amanda’s voice, like a ghost creeping out of the shadows,
whispered, “Let go of me now, or everything you got from the
Barnard family will be taken back.”
“Garrett, are you after love or bread? Even if you want love,
Adelaide probably can’t give it to you. So, why bother?”
Garrett suppressed his anger, pulling her hand away, “Amanda,
you will pay for this.”
Amanda was not threatened, she replied with a sweet and innocent smile, “It’s okay, as long as I can be with Garrett,
everything is worth it.”
As for that bitch Adelaide…
I had to die!

Adelaide didn’t even say hi to Evelyn, she just left the hospital.
I happened to bump into Jeanette, who was on her way to the hospital, when I was waiting for her in the parking lot.

“Adelaide, you really dared to come here!” Jeanette’s voice was
sharp, coming straight at her.
Adelaide just felt a throbbing pain in her temples.
Bad luck is either not coming at all, or it’s coming one after

brushed off.”
“Whether it counts or not, what you said doesn’t count. But
now I need to remind you of something, your good son–in–law is
choking your good daughter. If you don’t go up there soon, it
will be too late.”
“What?!”
Adelaide just smiled without saying a word.
Jeanette ended up believing her after all, since she was there,

Garrett and Amanda wouldn’t behave.
“Stupid girl!” she cursed, then headed straight to the hospital
ward.
Adelaide put on a fake smile and casually walked into the
parking lot.
She sat in the driver’s seat with her front foot, and the
passenger door was opened with her back foot. She was startled
at first, but then relaxed when she saw who it was.
“Mr. Thorton…”
Reginald expressionlessly buckled his seatbelt, “Are we going or
not?”
Adelaide quietly started the car and chuckled, “What a
coincidence, running into Mr. Thorton here.”
“Was it a coincidence?”
“Nice.”
Reginald chuckled, “Coincidentally, it’s just for you.”
“Adelaide gripped the steering wheel tightly, trying to keep the
car from swaying as much as possible.”
“Everyone else tries to avoid meeting until the cooling–off
