Chapter140
“You really had a hard time.” Evelyn’s eyes turned red, she
really didn’t expect that she and Adelaide wouldn’t have the
fate of being mother–in–law and daughter–in–law.
Adelaide didn’t say anything, but tried to keep her distance
from Evelyn as much as possible. Since she wanted to cut ties
completely, she needed to do it thoroughly. She didn’t want to
be misunderstood again in the future for getting too close to
Evelyn.
“Okay, you go in,” Evelyn said gently.
Adelaide nodded.
Not knowing anything, the nanny at the Pierce’s place saw her
enter Garrett’s room, then hurried back to find Amanda.
In the ward.
Garrett saw her coming and immediately got out of bed with
joy. “Adele, you came to see me!”
Adelaide frowned, stood there, waiting for Garrett to approach,

Garrett froze, his head tilted to one side.
Adelaide gave Garrett a stern look, “Garrett, do you want me to

“But I was wrong, this time not only made me see your true
colors, but also made me realize that there are many men better
than you, even a thousand times better than you!”
Garrett suddenly got red eyes and said, “No way! Nobody loves
you more than I do!”
Adelaide calmly stared at him.
Garrett’s pupils shrank, shaking his head in denial: “Adele, you were deceived. Reginald never loved you, he was just playing
with you.”

Adelaide smirked and said, “Do you understand him, or do I
understand him?”
“That’s just your one–sided understanding.”
“Okay, then let me ask you, what do I like to drink the most?”
“Latte, huh,” Garrett blurted out, “I used to make you a latte

“I used to like latte before, but actually I stopped liking latte
since last year. I started to enjoy drinking pear juice. Haven’t I
