Chapter131
“Mr. Thorton, it was just a misunderstanding,” Adelaide quickly added, “I just wanted Ethen to help me find someone in Briola, I didn’t expect it to turn into such a big mistake”
Reginald furrowed his brow, silent, staring at her.
Ethen nodded vigorously, “Yeah, Adelaide asked me to find
someone.”
With a lowered head and a hoarse voice, he complained, “Adelaide did ask me to find someone, things are not what you
think.”
“I…” Alice pouted, she also heard what Selina said, plus seeing
them adding each other on WhatsApp as soon as they came out,
made her think wrong.
Adelaide gave Reginald a subtle look, hinting him not to make a
scene.
Reginald saw it and chuckled, “She did have a point. If you’re
busy, you should find the boss, or else you wouldn’t have made
such a mess.”
“Have you learned your lesson, Ms. Pierce.”
Chapter131
The last two words, bitten very hard, full of ambiguity.
Adelaide nodded reluctantly, “Got it, Mr. Thorton.”
Ms. Pierce? Ethen was curious about this title.
When I saw Reginald’s attitude towards Adelaide, I couldn’t
help but feel that something was off.
Without even thinking too deeply, Reginald’s sharp wolf–like
gaze was already on him. He shuddered all over, that
suffocating feeling of not being able to breathe came back.
Reginald said casually, “Ms. Pierce has entrusted you with the
matter, so you don’t need to worry about it. Just go back and
explain to your fiancee properly, so you don’t end up dragging
someone else into this mess.”
He glanced at Alice again, as if to warn her.
Alice was so busy that she couldn’t even look down, biting her
lip and tensing up her back.
Ethen wanted to explain that he had nothing to do with Alice,
but when faced with Reginald’s intimidating presence and
expression, he couldn’t bring himself to say a word.
“He’s gone,” Reginald said, turning to Adelaide.
Adelaide apologized to Ethen, “Sorry, Ethen.”
Chapter131
Ethen smiled and shook his head, watching her leave with Reginald.
Without that piercing gaze, Alice’s complexion gradually returned to normal. At that moment, she started to feel curious again, “How could Adelaide really be working for Reginald? Could it be possible…?”
Seeing that she couldn’t say anything nice, Ethen immediately frowned and said, “Alice, can’t you stop being so dirty–minded?”
Alice felt wronged: “Why do you say that to me!”
Ethen said angrily, “If it weren’t for you causing trouble just now, would this have happened? Adelaide came to me about Mr. Schmitt’s matter!”
He turned around in anger and walked into the private room.
Alice stood there, feeling even more wronged.
She didn’t know how this could all be her fault.

Adelaide casually followed alongside Reginald.
She realized he was not heading towards the private room, so
she cleared her throat and asked, “Mr. Thorton, aren’t we going back to the private room?”
