Chapter 10
Realizing that he was still so obsessed with Adelaide, Amanda felt a surge of jealousy. She wished Adelaide would just die!
She bit her lip. “I’m okay with being your mistress. I don’t need much, just a little bit of affection now and then. Is that too much
to ask?”
Garrett replied indifferently, “I’ll get you a set of jewelry.”
Hearing that, Amanda felt even more annoyed. “I wanna be
your mistress, not a gold digger!”
“I can only give you money. My heart is all Adele’s,” Garrett said,
not giving her a chance to make a scene. “Wanna threaten me
with suicide? If you do, make sure you die far away from
Evercrest!”
Amanda felt frustrated. She thought about how hard it was to
get close to Garrett and had to swallow her pride, softening her
tone. “Sorry!”
“Get out,” Garrett said impatiently, telling her to leave.
She reluctantly pursed her lips, knowing she had to leave for

Chapter 10
Standing in the elevator, she got an idea. She took a photo of the
elevator floor display and sent it triumphantly to Adelaide,
saying: “Adelaide, when you were on the phone with Garrett
just now, guess what? I was in his office too.”
When Adelaide glanced at the message, Teresa snatched her

Adelaide smiled faintly but still had to set the record straight.
“The psychologist they got is one of the best in the country. No
doubt about it.”
“Oh, so her depression has taken a turn for the worse. She has
gone completely crazy now,” Teresa said, handing the phone
back to Adelaide. She looked at Adelaide with concern. “You’ve
been with that jerk for so long. Are you sure you can let go?”
Adelaide took a sip of coffee, her eyes flickering with pain as
she looked down. “I can’t stand infidelity.”
She didn’t mind if someone had past relationships, but she
absolutely couldn’t tolerate them messing around with other
girls while they were together.
Chapter 10
Garrett knew this, yet he still crossed the line.
“I thought all men in the world could cheat, but Garrett would
never.” Teresa cursed angrily, “Cheaters are scum!”
Just then, Adelaide’s phone rang.
It was her mom, Jeanette Pierce.
Teresa saw it and her eyebrows went up. “She’s probably calling
you home. Gonna make up some excuse to get out of it?”
Adelaide picked up her phone and smiled a little. “I can’t avoid it
anyway.”
Then she answered the call. “Mom.”
Jeanette bossed her around over the phone. “Tell Garrett to
