That aside, he knew for a fact that he had somehow offended her… But how?
Moving back to Xavia, by the time she returned to the North Court, Yulia had already awoken, and she was tightly hugging the head of the bed.
When the secretary saw Xavia, she quickly ran toward her before saying, “You’re finally back, Third Young Lady…! I’ve tried my hardest but Miss Yulia simply refused to eat the lunch that I prepared for her!”
“I’m sorry Mommy, but I didn’t know who he was! He doesn’t look nice so I thought he was a bad person!” exclaimed Yulia as she quickly ran toward her mother before hugging Xavia’s leg.
Her statement made the secretary speechless. Did he really look like a bad guy…?
Understandably feeling slightly awkward now, Xavia quickly carried Yulia in her arms while saying, “You shouldn’t be rude to others, you know…? Sorry, the child’s just joking…”
“…Well… alright… I guess he can’t really change how he looks… I’m sorry for telling the truth…” muttered Yulia in a sincere tone.
…If this was how she was going to reflect, then it’d be better if she hadn’t said it at all! Though he was now gloomier than before, the secretary knew better than to hold a grudge against a child. With that, he was prompted to say, “…Regardless, if you need me to help with your luggage, Third Young Lady? Or would you prefer doing it yourself…?”
Naturally, Xavia was unwilling to return to the Lockhart Mansion. However, there were some things that had to be made clear, and it wasn’t an option to just remain silent either. Besides, she had to pick Dolly up too.
With all that in mind, Xavia chose to reply, “…I’ll get them myself, though doing all this with a cab won’t be that convenient. With that said, please give me a lift there.”
“Will do,” replied the secretary with a nod.
After Yulia had her lunch, the secretary made sure to send an update message to Keith before driving Xavia to the Lockhart Mansion. Since Xavia was worried that Mr. and Mrs. Lockhart would scare Yulia, she chose not to bring her along.
After looking at things that way, Heather couldn’t help but smile as she said, “Well, I know how important love is to young people like you two. You’re at the prime age of marrying anyway. That aside, feel free to contact us if Young Master Keith needs any help from us.”
Despite Heather’s kind tone, it was obvious to Xavia that she simply wanted a rich son-in-law. Even so, Xavia simply nodded in response before wordlessly heading off to pack up her clothes and daily necessities.
Oddly enough, she couldn’t seem to find Dolly anywhere, and she couldn’t reach her phone either. Ultimately, Xavia decided to just transfer her things over first before updating Dolly.
Throughout the half-hour that Xavia spent packing her things, Heather retained her pretentious enthusiasm. She didn’t even bother telling Xavia to stay. While Xavia herself wanted to leave as soon as possible, she couldn’t help but feel disappointed.
After all, as people said, once a girl got married, she’d no longer be part of the family. However, Xavia wasn’t even married yet, yet Heather was this anxious for her to leave! How cruel…
Then again, at least things were going to be looking up from here on out. It was high time Xavia embraced life again so that she could work hard and take care of Yulia…
