“Jenna, are you really that afraid of me?”

“What kind of joke is that?”

Xavia scoffed, “Why else would you be so worried about me staying in Darlsbury? If you weren't afraid of me, would you be trying this hard to make me leave? Or is it that you have no confidence in yourself, and think that someone as plain as me will steal Zivon Burton away from you?”

Xavia questioned her continuously, her words sharp and her tone aggressive.

Jenna’s face flushed red in anger. She was indeed afraid! It was because Zivon treated Xavia very differently, and to top it all off, she was the real mother of his child!

Jenna, however, was too arrogant to admit her insecurities. Her red lips curled upwards slightly as she said, “You’re overthinking it. Zivon would never be interested in someone like you, and even if he was, it would probably just be something temporary to relieve his boredom.”

“Since you want to stay in Darlsbury so badly, you can just remain here. Even if you stay here for the rest of your life, you will never be able to threaten my position. After all, you’re nothing more than a takeaway delivery person, and you won’t be able to survive in Darlsbury for much longer!”

Right after she said that, Jenna turned around and stalked away in her high heels. She left in a haughty manner, like a beautiful and proud peacock.

The tension in the atmosphere finally dissipated.

Xavia heaved a sigh of relief. Fortunately, she had managed to make Jenna leave out of anger…

“Xavia, why didn’t you tell her that you’ve already signed a contract with Dallas Entertainment? Did you see how she walked away like a proud peacock just now? In my opinion, you should just make it big and bask in the limelight, then steal her position as Mrs. Burton! Let’s see if she’ll still be so arrogant then!”
