Chapter 11: Confrontation and Consequences
Chapter 11: Confrontation and Consequences
(Sophia’s POV)
Marcus coldly rejected my advances, his voice cutting through me like ice. “III have Amber drive you back.”
He walked away without looking back, his broad shoulders rigid with dismissal.
I watched his retreating figure, gripping the silver bracelet tightly in my hand. The metal bit into my palm as venomous hatred filled my eyes.
How dare Elena compete with me for an Alpha? How dare she think she could win?
I pulled
out my phone and made a secretive call
(Elena’s POV)
At the Shadowspire Tower parking lot, I was surprised to find Nathan Sterling following me.
“Why did you believe in my innocence?” I asked, genuinely curious.
Nathan’s carefree smile softened with sincerity. “I trust Professor Theodore Ashworth’s judgment. He taught
you, so you must have integrity.”
He paused, then chuckled. “Besides, I’ve earned the nickname “women’s friend‘ in my social circles. I’ve encountered all types of scheming she–wolves. I can easily see through petty schemes like that.”
His support touched me deeply. “Thank you, Nathan.”
“If you need help, just ask,” he offered warmly.
A cold voice suddenly cut through our conversation. “Young Master Sterling is interested in her?”
I recognized Marcus’s voice but refused to turn around. The most humiliating part wasn’t Sophia’s scheme – it
was Marcus’s reaction to it
Nathan’s voice turned sarcastic. “Why did you abandon your little she–wolf? Hasn’t she been promoted to
official Luna status yet?”
Marcus ignored the sarcasm and grabbed my arm, pulling me to his side. “I need to discuss something with
her.”
Nathan stepped forward protectively. “Her affairs are my concern as Professor Ashworth’s student and my
junior.”
Marcus’s golden eyes flashed dangerously. “Young Master Sterling, are you capable of handling such
concerns?”
The veiled Alpha threat hung in the air as Marcus forcibly dragged me away.
Despite my struggles, Marcus pulled me to his car. I finally broke free and exploded with anger.
“You just want to defend your first lovel” I shouted, my voice cracking with pain.
“Do you plan to send me to the Territorial Enforcement Station? Charge me with theft and
or imprisoned so you can be with your white moonlight?”

My chest heaved with fury. “Let’s sever our mate bond immediately so you won’t be criticized for having a thieving former motel”
(Marcus’s POV)
I pushed her against the car door, gripping her pale, palm–sized face and forcing her to look at me.
“Did I ever mention detention or imprisonment?” I demanded, my brow furrowing with concern at her
bloodless complexion.
Elena’s mocking smile twisted her features. “Do you want me to apologize instead?”
“You slapped her,” I stated simply.
Elena’s smile faded as she asked calmly. “Do you want to slap me back in return?”
I stared at her, realizing that after six years of mating, I was seeing her stubborn side for the first time. This version of her was more appealing than her previous submissive self.
“I thought you were a pushover,” I commented.
Elena stiffened, understanding my implication that she was easy to manipulate.
I released her and loosened my tie. “The matter is closed. Don’t provoke Sophia again.”
Elena was incredulous at my accusation. 1 provoked Sophia? That’s utterly ridiculous.”
She pushed away my hand. “Go find your Miss Rivers.”
She walked away, leaving me watching her retreating figure. My expression darkened as her transformation from six years of unchanging compliance to current resistance made me extremely uncomfortable.
Something was trying to escape my control.
(Elena’s POV)
The next day, I went to work as usual at the Northern Territory Central Healing Institute. Yesterday’s incident had created obvious bias among my colleagues.
Though everyone remained silent on the surface, private gossip was rampant. I didn’t bother to defend myself since I had already applied for a transfer.
The rumors eventually reached Director Henry Baker, who summoned me to his office.
“Is there a misunderstanding between you and Healer Sophia?” he asked carefully.
He sighed heavily. “Since Sophia is Alpha Marcus’s chosen person, conflicts should be avoided.”
My heart sank as he continued. “Your work will be transferred to Sophia for the remaining days.”
I was stunned. “Are you certain Sophia can handle the responsibilities?”
This was essentially stripping me of my authority, even though I wasn’t at fault.
