Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress novel Chapter 966

Chapter 966: Where else would I go?

Wild and Haines had been in Anteca for months now. However, until now, the two of them hadn’t properly met. How could they meet when, every time they had to, they kept standing up to each other? frёeωebɳovel.com

So, it was safe to say that this was the first time Wild and Haines had met again after a long time.

"What the hell is wrong with Penny?"

Haines furrowed his brows and leaned forward, narrowing his eyes. He didn’t read the lengthy message, but he saw the greeting and the introduction at the beginning.

The message was from Old Mrs. Pierson.

"It seems... Penny has lost her mind," Haines commented, showing Wild the message he received from the same sender. "This is the message I received at the same time."

Wild’s face contorted, not having the energy to read all the messages. He had already read enough to grasp the gist of it. It was just as unpleasant as the one he had received.

"Hey! What the — how dare you talk bad about my child!?" Suddenly, Charles chimed in. "My daughter is perfect! She’s not the one to lose her mind!"

Allison, on the other hand, just looked worried. "So, you’re Mister Wild? Penny told me lots of things about you. It’s pleasant to meet you again, and I’m sorry if I didn’t recognize you immediately."

"Don’t worry about it." Wild waved dismissively. "But your daughter is setting me up for a date — who’s got the time?"

"Uhm, excuse me?" Jessa cleared her throat. "Did you say you’re *that* Wild, Penny always talks about?"

Wild arched a brow. "And you are?"

The corner of Jessa’s mouth hooked up as her eyelids drooped. "I’m just a mother who’s been abandoned by my child, only for him to be bullied by some old fart."

Wild blinked, watching how Jessa’s face darkened. Her eyes glinted, almost like they were red.

"A mother, huh?" he mumbled, only to remember Yugi and Penny’s usual comment about Yugi’s mother. He took a step back briefly, laughing awkwardly. "So, you’re Yugi’s mother. Madam—"

"Madam?! I don’t remember being so old as to be called madam."

Wild turned to Haines and then caught Charles making a chopping motion in front of his throat. That meant Wild had to run, right? But before Wild could do so, Jessa had already grabbed his collar to stop him.

"Oh, ho..." Jessa giggled, smiling at him with her eyes squinting. "Don’t leave yet. I’d like to have a word with you first, okay?"

Meanwhile...

"I’ll be back later in the evening." Nina was sitting on the chair beside the bed, squeezing Finn’s hand. "Rest, okay? I’ll try to come back early so we can have dinner together."

Finn smiled and nodded at her. "Come back...?"

"Where else would I go?" she quipped as she let his hand go, standing beside the bed. Nina studied him with a smile, caressing his cheek before turning to leave.

This time, Nina looked back at him just before reaching the door. As soon as she did, Finn flashed her a gentle smile.

"Before you argue with me, know that I have all my arguments ready. And I’m not in a hurry to go back to the office — Penny is aware too. So, I don’t mind arguing with you in here for the next hour or so... but I’m not sure if you can afford to be late."

Nina’s smile grew helpless as she watched Yugi arch a brow at her. "Fine," she sighed in defeat. "Goodness. Would I ever win against you?"

Having said that, the two of them chuckled and walked away together.

"Don’t worry. I ask the same question when it comes to Yuri. The only difference between her and me is that she’s a psycho."

"I won’t tell her what you said."

"You better not."

"Haha."

As they walked toward the elevator of the building, Yugi’s gaze went past her. He nodded slightly at the person seated on the bench before shifting his focus back to Nina.

Meanwhile, inside the ward, Finn was reclining on the bed with a tablet in his hand. It had been a while since he read articles that might concern him. Surprisingly, there wasn’t much that had happened while he was in a coma. The irony was that now that he was awake, an interesting article finally showed up.

"Atlas Bennet... was kicked out of Global Prime Logistics?" he whispered, peeling his eyes from the tablet to the window. He stared out the window quietly until he suddenly heard the door slide open without a knock beforehand.

Slowly, he turned his head toward the door, only to furrow his brows when he saw who was standing there.
