Genius Kids' Scheme Claiming Daddy's Billionaire Empire novel Chapter 14

Chapter 14: A Matter of Persistence

Irene stood in the empty living room of her new apartment as morning light streamed through pristine windows. She had chosen a modest but well–maintained space clean, modern, and most importantly, free from any Sterling family influence. This was her fresh

start.

“What do you think?” She watched her children explore every corner of their new space with the kind of intensity only five–year–olds could muster. “Will this work for us?”

“It’s perfect!” The triplets spoke in unison, making her laugh. They never failed to amaze her with their synchronized responses.

Lily twirled around the empty living room, her curls bouncing everywhere. “Mom picks the best places ever!”

Irene pulled her daughter close, heart melting at the pure trust in those words. Five years of being both mom and dad had taught her that home wasn’t about fancy addresses or designer furniture. It was about moments like this – just her and her three little miracles.

“Alright, my little helpers,” she grinned. “Ready to make this place ours?”

The morning flew by in a whirlwind of boxes and organization. Alex, ever the perfectionist, had somehow turned unpacking into a military operation complete with color–coded spreadsheets on his tablet. “Look, Mom! Red is super important stuff, yellow can wait a bit, and green is whenever.”

Lucas, meanwhile, had turned the whole thing into some kind of mathematical puzzle. “If we put the bookshelf here,” he explained, pointing at his carefully drawn floor plan, “everything else fits perfectly!”

Not to be outdone, Lily had appointed herself Interior Design Queen. “No, no!” She waved her hands dramatically at her brothers. “The energy flow is all wrong! The couch needs to face that way!

By lunchtime, the apartment actually looked livable, even with boxes still scattered around. A loud rumble from Lily’s stomach made them all pause.

“Mom?” Lily looked up with those impossibleto–resist puppy eyes. “I’m starving…”

Irene checked the time, surprised how quickly the morning had gone. “You know what? We’ve done great work today. How about we celebrate our new home with lunch

somewhere special?

“Can we try the fancy place downstairs?” Lucas bounced on his toes. “The one with the awesome bread?”

“Please?” Alex and Lily chimed in, suddenly looking very interested.

The restaurant turned out to be perfect – nice enough to feel special but not so fancy it was stuffy. Her kids, bless their hearts, sat up straight and used their best manners without being told. Watching them adapt so naturally to any situation made her chest swell with pride.

Just remember,” she whispered as they studied their menus, “having nice things now

doesn’t mean-”

-we should take them for granted!” they finished together, making their server hide a

smile.

Shopping after lunch turned into its own adventure. Her little trio attacked it with their

usual enthusiasm.

“Mom, I’ve got this planned out,” Alex announced, waving his tablet. “Bathroom stuff first, then kitchen things, then cleaning supplies.”

“Look at you, getting all organized.” Irene couldn’t help but smile at his serious

expression.

Lucas tugged her sleeve by the towels. “Mom, wait! Get these instead – they’re basically

the same but way cheaper.”

“How’d you figure that out?”

“Did the math.” He shrugged like it was totally normal for a kindergartener to calculate price comparisons. “These other ones are super expensive for no reason.”

Lily appeared between them, arms loaded with matching towels. “But these are so pretty! And they’re on sale!”

team!

Thomas’s face fell so dramatically he looked like a sad puppy. “We were totally wrong,” he pleaded. “Please, Miss Irene, give us another chance?”

He tried for a hopeful smile. “About the treatment – you did say yes before, remember? And money’s no problem,” he added quickly. “Whatever you want – just name your price.
