Genius Kids‘ Scheme: Claiming Daddy’s Billionaire Empre
Chapter 110
Irene glanced at her watch as Ly rambled on about Brandon’s racing trophies. The kids had been talking for thirty minutes, and Adam still needed his treatment tonight.
“Okay, story time’s over,” she said, getting up from the chair. “Adam needs his rest, and you three should’ve been in bed ages ago.”
The triplets slumped in unison, looking utterly disappointed.
“Just five more minutes?” Lucas tried, right before a yawn gave him away.
“Nice try,” Irene tapped his nose. “Say goodnight to Adam,”
The triplets shuffled over, suddenly remembering their manners.
“Night, Uncle Adam!” they chorused, voices heavy with sleep.
Lily added a wobbly curtsy while the boys attempted awkward nods, clearly copying some movie character they’d seen.
Adam’s expression softened. “Goodnight, you three.”
Those simple words made their faces light up. Lily beamed, while the boys traded a sneaky glance that said they’d gotten exactly what they wanted.
Irene nudged them toward the door where Thomas waited. “James will help you get ready. I’ll be home soon to tuck you in.”
“Promise?” Lily grabbed her hand, suddenly serious.
“Cross my heart.” Irene kissed her forehead. “Now scoot.”
Thomas shot Irene a quick look before leading the children away. The door closed, leaving the study suddenly quiet.
Irene turned to Adam. “Now that the hurricane has passed, we should start your treatment before it gets any later.”
Adam nodded, closing his laptop. “Here?”
“Might as well.” She glanced at the sofa near the bookshelves. “That work.”
Adam wheeled himself over while Irene texted Thomas. Minutes later, he appeared with her treatment kit.
“Need anything else?” Thomas asked.
“We’re good.” ene was already sorting through her equipment.
Thomas nodded and left, closing the door quietly.
Irene’s casual manner shifted to professional focus. “Let’s get started.
Adam positioned himself on the sofa. Irene knelt beside him, gesturing to his pant leg.
“I’ll need to roll these up,” she said, waiting for his nod before folding the fabric.
Irene attached electrodes to specific points along his leg, her movements quick and precise.

“Same routine tonight,” she explained, connecting wires to the main unit. “Consistency matters with the progress you’re making
The room filled with the soft fim of the device. Irene watched the readings, making small adjustments. Adam’s jaw tightened, muscles tensing as the current Woke up nerves that had been dormant for months.
“Try to relax,” she said, noticing his grip on the sofa. “Tensing up makes it harder,
Thirty minutes passed mostly in silence. When the timer beeped, Irene removed the electrodes and packed them away.
“Now for the hands–on part,” she said, shifting position. “This helps lock in what we just did.”
Her fingers worked over his calf and up toward his thigh, applying steady pressure to the spots they’d just treated. Despite the personal nature of the touch, it was purely clinical–a doctor treating a patient.
“Feeling any difference?” she asked, focusing on her work.
“Yes,” Adam replied. “More sensation than before.”
Irene nodded, looking pleased. “Your nerves are responding better. I can feel the muscle tone improving.
Neither of them heard the soft footsteps approaching in the hallway.
Downstairs, Thomas opened the front door to find Marcus and Sophia standing there, looking perfectly put–together despite the late
hour.
“Evening,” Thomas said, surprise flashing across his face before he regained his composure.
Sophia smiled warmly. “Thomas, we were just in the area and thought we’d check on Adam.” She glanced past him. “Is he around?”
Thomas hesitated, knowing exactly what was happening upstairs. But these were Adam’s parents–he couldn’t exactly turn them
away.
“He’s in his study,” Thomas replied carefully.
“Working late as usual,” Marcus shook his head. “That boy never stops.”
Sophia’s eyes scanned the quiet house. “We won’t stay long. Just a quick hello.”
Thomas nodded, stepping aside reluctantly. “Let me check if-”
“No need,” Sophia cut in. “We know the way.”
Before Thomas could figure out what to do, they were already heading toward the stairs.
“He’s been quite busy lately,” Thomas called after them, wondering if he should somehow warn Adam and Irene. But what would he say? Shouting up the stairs would only make everything weirder
Instead, he followed at a distance, bracing himself for whatever was about to happen.
Marcus led the way upstairs, Sophia close behind, her mind buzzing with questions about the mystery woman Samantha had mentioned. If she was honest with herself, curiosity, was the main reason for this visit. Adam had been unusually distant lately, and if someone had actually broken through his walls, she wanted to know who.
They reached the study door, which was slightly open. Marcus paused, looking through the gap. His body suddenly went stiff.
