The Lost Heiress: Never Forgiven (Sierra Xander) novel Chapter 491

Sierra excitedly shared her research progress with White.

“I was really focused today. My thinking was sharp — way better than usual. It felt like divine inspiration!”

Her mood, once sour, now showed no sign of gloom.

“You’re right. A change in environment really makes a difference.”

White smiled meaningfully.

That evening, Johnathan came to pick her up. White could tell — though Johnathan tried to hide it — that his mood was off. And Sierra? The moment she saw him, there was no joy in her eyes. Only irritation.

Seeing the two of them like this, White was overjoyed.

They were all people who valued appearances. Johnathan gave White a curt nod before reaching for Sierra’s hand. She instinctively tried to pull away, then stopped herself.

White noticed it all. The details gave him more reassurance.

This was exactly what he wanted to see.

After they left, he immediately instructed Nate to reinforce Sierra’s aversion to Johnathan.

“Once a day,” he said.

Nate hesitated.

“If it’s too frequent, it might cause emotional damage.”

The chip wasn’t fully stable. In previous trials, many test subjects had ended up mentally unstable.

He knew how much Sierra mattered to White — which was why he voiced the concern.

“You know this kind of interference goes against natural brain function. It will inevitably harm the nervous system.”

White frowned.

“Then every other day. Don’t touch anything else. Just target her emotions.”

He was determined to break Sierra and Johnathan apart completely.

“Got it,” Nate said.

But back at the estate — where Sierra was supposedly growing distant — she was curled up in Johnathan’s arms.

“I think he believed it today.”

“Mm.”

Johnathan played with her earlobe, something he always did affectionately.

“He probably just wants to control me so I’ll work for him,” Sierra said.

“Mm,” Johnathan murmured — then cut her off with a kiss.

He didn’t want to waste a quiet moment talking about that man.

The next morning, Johnathan dropped Sierra off at the university, then headed to the cemetery. It had been a long time.
