Chapter 394 The Lie Unravels
Chapter 394 The Lie Unravels
Back then, Sierra could feel that Jose genuinely respected Johnathan. Could he really have done something to harm him?
Just as she was thinking that, Johnathan’s phone rang. Whatever the caller said made his face change instantly.
“What is it?” Sierra asked quickly.
“Dora’s been taken.”
Johnathan spoke calmly.
“What?” Sierra was stunned. Before she could ask more, Johnathan added, “Jose’s been injured.”
“Huh?”
Sierra didn’t immediately make the connection. What did Jose getting hurt have to do with Dora being taken?
“Today, Jose ran into Dora. He took her out to buy cake, and someone attacked him and took her.”
Johnathan said it without much expression, but there was clear sarcasm in his eyes.
Even Sierra thought the whole thing seemed far too coincidental.
Because Quinn had escaped, Dora had been under constant protection. She only ever went between school and home and rarely went out otherwise. And now, she just so happened to run into Jose-and the got kidnapped? The entire situation felt suspicious.
While Sierra was still thinking it over, she saw Johnathan lift his blanket and sit up through the pain, clearly intending to get out of bed.
“What are you doing?” Sierra looked at him disapprovingly. Did he not understand how serious his injuries were? It had only been a few days, and he already wanted to push himself?
Under her gaze, Johnathan quickly said, “Relax, I know my limits. I’m not trying to act tough. I… just need a wheelchair?”
He wasn’t about to push his luck. With several broken ribs and internal injuries, it was impossible for him to get up and walk.
Sierra looked at him and frowned. “You really have to go?”
In the end, Sierra got him a wheelchair. Fortunately, Jose was in the same hospital-just in a different wing.

Chapter 394 The Lie Unravels
At that moment, in Jose’s hospital room, only Susie and Jose were present.
Susie had been staring at him the whole time. Jose felt uneasy and instinctively avoided her gaze.
“Mom, the doctor said I’m fine. You don’t need to worry.”
Susie’s eyes flashed with cold irony. “Even now, you’re still saying things like that?”
“Jose! Tell me the truth. What exactly is going on between you and Quinn?”

Susie asked angrily. Though she hadn’t visited Johnathan due to certain reasons, that didn’t mean she was unaware that Quinn might have been involved in his injuries.
And now Quinn’s daughter had been taken-and her own son was involved.
Susie wasn’t a fool. She only had to think for a moment to figure it out.
And then she remembered the look on her son’s face that day. Her heart ached. “The car crash was your doing too, wasn’t it?”
“I already said it had nothing to do with me.”
Jose replied irritably, “Mom, I really don’t understand why you’d rather believe an outsider than your own son. I’ve told you over and over-it had nothing to do with me. Nothing.”
Jose knew this situation could easily expose him, but he had no other option.
He was confident they wouldn’t find evidence. After all, he hadn’t spent all these years in the Wynn family for nothing-he had his own power and resources.
So what if it all looked suspicious? If there was no evidence, then it was just coincidence.
