The Primordial Record novel Chapter 1598

Chapter 1598: The Bleeding Heavens

Rowan swung his Destroyer at the beam of power tearing towards him, and with the speed of the Alcion Formation, he had to make his move even before the attack began.

Experiencing this attack twice had shown Rowan that the power from this formation was so fast that he could only respond to it before the attack began.

There was utilization of higher-dimensional laws of Light that were solely under the domain of the Celestials, and they took advantage of this power. free𝑤ebnovel.com

The Destroyer in his hand turned scarlet, the same as his hair, as it was filled with all the energy of destruction that Rowan could push into the blade. Acting as an amplifier similar to what the Alcion Formation was capable of, the power he poured into the blade was magnified beyond reason.

"Up to this moment. This is the greatest attack I have ever made."

A red radiance like the first dusk upon creation lit up the expanse as a wave of blade energy erupted from his Destroyer, and it had barely traveled a few thousand light years away from Rowan and towards the Celestial Legions when the bolt of power arising from the formation struck it.

This space was torn in two, and madness emerged as Destruction and Light waged war. However, the stalemate did not last long before the Formation of Light tore through Destruction and swept over Rowan, covering him with a blanket of light. When it died down, only a charred husk remained in the air, holding a melted blade.

A sigh emerged from the center of the Celestial Formation,

"I was expecting excellence, but was this your greatest move? And here I thought your defiance of the primordial order had some sort of standing."

Another cold voice emerged from the center of the Celestial Formation: "You should be careful of that lad, Adjudicator. My memories are slowly emerging from the old Eye, and there is nothing more tricky than that man. He has mastered the art of war."

"It matters not what he has mastered, before our Celestial might, all will fall."

The second voice snickered, "I know you need to do all of this grandstanding in front of the peons, but seriously, you should blast that corpse a couple more times. He died too easily, and so he is not dead."

"Our Celestial Order is inviolable. It does not matter how many times he returns, he shall fall... What do we have here?!"

It was unknown when it happened, but Rowan had sneaked into the Alcion Formation and stood above the Celestial Legions, looking at them with critical eyes, especially the Archon, which held two beings, the Adjudicator and the Eye of Time.

The Adjudicator, who resembled a mortal man in every aspect, slowly widened his blue eyes in surprise,

"This should not be possible. You cannot enter this Formation unless..."

Rowan, looking around at the Celestial Legions, sharpened his gaze. "Impossible? Order?" he raised his Destroyer and its edge hummed with forgotten hymns that disrupted the chanting of the Celestial Creators maintaining the Ritual that sanctified this formation, "I am the storm that unmakes all."

And then, as he took in a breath, Rowan moved.

The first Angel fell, it was a Cherubim, all of her glorious Celestial wings sheared clean. Behind Rowan, there was a single beat, as if Reality could not comprehend the speed that he had used to cross the distance for his first kill, and then an explosion as the shockwave that was generated by him crossing through this space using nothing but his body, tore through billions of Angels behind him.

The Destroyer in Rowan’s right hand, which was covered by the divine blood of Angels up to his shoulders, was roaring to the broken heavens.

Rowan stopped his movement. The first breath he took as he began his slaughter had just ended, and half the Celestial Legions were dead.

The number of Angels below the rank of Cherubims that had been killed was nearly impossible to count, and of the one hundred Cherubims that had stood here before the battle began, only two remained. Rowan’s target from the beginning was this class of Angels.

With them out of the way, there were only the dozen Seraphims, the Celestial Creator, and the Archon left to battle.

In the distance, standing on the shoulder of the Archon, the Adjudicator’s eyes shrank to a dot, and he gave an order to the Celestial Creators and the Seraphims.

"Surround him and kill."

Without hesitation, they descended upon Rowan on wings of blinding fury. The lower-order angels followed behind, but their speed was much too slow to make a difference in a battle of this level, not while the enemy was inside the formation with them.

Rowan grinned as he licked the stray drop of blood from an Angel on his lips, his smile echoing the laughter of the Destroyer. He was fulfilling one of the aspects of his being—a Supreme maker of Destruction, and his heart reveled in slaughter and madness.

Before him, the Legion of First Light led by the Celestial Creators neared, and he raised his blade to meet them.
