Robin glanced at the middle-aged man who had stepped forward.
So this was Rishi—the deputy director of the Tanqueria's National Security Bureau.
"Oh?" Robin said with a faint smirk. "You're calling my killing of Yakonov at the Northwest Defense Base a monstrous act?"
"It seems our earlier warning wasn't enough!" Rishi's expression turned cold. "Drakebane, watch your mouth! If it weren't for the long-standing ties between us and Draconia, you'd already be dead!"
"Oh really?" Robin dusted the snow off his shoulders and gave a faint smile. "By ties, do you mean your ancestors shamelessly seizing Bobby? Is that the glorious relationship you're talking about?
"Everyone knows your wolfish ambitions.
"For the sake of land and profit, there's nothing you won't stoop to."
"Drakebane, are you openly defying the authority of the Tanqueria?" Rishi bellowed.
Robin stepped forward, eyes cold as steel. "If you want to call it defiance, then sure—let's call it that. So what?"
Rishi's body stiffened, his earlier bravado crumbling in an instant.
He had assumed the might and reputation of the Tanqueria would be enough to intimidate Robin.
To his surprise, this fearsome Divine Drakebane remained completely unfazed, his presence so intense it felt like the air itself was closing in.
Even the bitter chill of the Tanqueria's winter night was smothered by the oppressive air of death that clung to him.
"You ... you stormed into our Northwest Defense Base, slaughtered your way through, and wiped out an entire armored division, a regiment, and an air defense squadron. If that's not a monstrous incident, then what is?"
In a flustered attempt to hold on to his authority, Rishi barely maintained the composure expected of the deputy director of the National Security Bureau.
Robin stepped forward, closing the distance between them with quiet menace.
"Fine! Then let me ask you—Yakonov, stationed at the Northwest Base, launched missile exercises right as I entered Snow Valley, despite a direct warning from Lord Quintana of Draconia. Care to explain that?
"This led to the deaths of several people.
"Now you tell me—who was Yakonov acting on behalf of? And what do you call what he did?
"No answer? Fine, I'll spell it out for you. He represented your Tanqueria. And what he did was nothing short of cold-blooded murder!
"You show up claiming to represent Tanqueria, pointing fingers at me for killing your people.
"But tell me this—if it had been me who had died that day, would you still say that Yakonov's actions were inhumane?
"You scum, when you're in power, you're worse than wild beasts—yet you wrap it all up in the name of justice!
"But the moment someone tougher than you push back, you start screaming about crimes and atrocities!
"Let me make one thing clear—your bully logic? It means nothing to me!
Rishi shook with fury. "Drakebane, this ... this attitude of yours isn't helping anything! Are you trying to make things even worse?"
"I don't deal with problems by groveling!" Robin snapped, jabbing a finger toward Rishi.
"You say I'm escalating things—so what if I am?
"Yakonov acted on behalf of Tanqueria, reaching out with its claws—an outright declaration of war against me!"
"So unless you give me a real explanation, I'm not backing down. Not until this war ends—on my terms!"
"If you can't give me an answer, then get lost!
"Otherwise, once the dragon dagger is drawn, none of you will walk out of here alive!"
