Chapter 175
While giving Stella an IV, the doctor asked, “You seem to care about her a lot. Are you chasing after her?”
Monroe was taken aback.
“You saved her and didn’t take advantage of her vulnerability. Trust me, she’s bound to fall for you,” the doctor continued.
Monroe was completely dumbfounded. His thoughts and actions made absolutely no sense to him. Why am I even doing this? Am I losing my mind?‘ he thought, puzzled.
At the restaurant, Kevin noticed that Stella had been gone for quite a while and hadn’t returned. She had even left her phone behind. Feeling
uneasy, he asked Stella’s female employee to check on her.
When she came back, she walked to Kevin and whispered, “I just went to the restroom, but I didn’t see Ms. Hayes.”
Kevin immediately tensed up. “What do you mean you didn’t see her? She definitely went to the restroom.”
Cavan tried to reassure him. “Don’t worry. This place is safe. Maybe she’s just not feeling well and went out for a walk. She’ll be back soon.”
Kevin thought that made sense. Hardly anyone here even knew Stella, and it’s not like anyone had a grudge against her. Plus, she didn’t tell anyone else that she came here, except for Jordan. But there was no way Jordan would hurt Stella.
Kevin told the employee to have her seat. After they waited for a while, Stella still didn’t come back, and Kevin began to feel anxious. “You guys, I have to go check on her.”
Stella’s two employees couldn’t eat either and wanted to follow him out, but Kevin stopped them. “You guys just stay here and keep talking
with the suppliers.”
Kevin realized that Stella would never leave the suppliers waiting for so long, unless she’d run into trouble. With that thought. He grew
nervous and hurried out to look for her.
Just then, he overheard the receptionists talking. “Someone just carried a woman out of here. What happened?”
“It looked like a few guys barged in and did something to her,” another receptionist answered.
Kevin rushed over right away. “What did you just say? What woman?”
They looked at each other, not sure what to say.
“Hurry up and tell me. My friend is missing–she’s important to me. Just tell me what happened,” Kevin pressed.
One of the receptionists spoke up nervously, “I… I just overheard that something happened to a woman in the restroom. A few guys tried to drag her out, but she didn’t want to go with them.
“Then another man showed up and stepped in to help her. It seemed like something was wrong with her, so he wrapped her up in his jacket and carried her out. I think he was taking her to the hospital.”
“Hospital? Which hospital is the closest one? Kevin asked.
“Densglobe Hospital,” the receptionist replied.
Kevin turned to leave, but suddenly thought of something and asked, “Can you pull up the security footage for me?”
“Well…” the receptionist hesitated.

Chapter 175
Just then, Cavan came downstairs, realizing something might have happened to Stella. He said to them, “I’ve already given your Boss a heads–up. He’ll call you any second now.”
Sure enough, the phone at the front desk started ringing. Once the receptionist got the order from their boss, they brought up the security footage.
Kevin stared at the screen, stunned. “Monroe?” He never would’ve guessed that, of all people, it was Monroe who took Stella away, Monroe always listened to Anna–he’d never do anything good for Stella.
‘Stella’s in real danger now, Kevin thought anxiously. He remembered he had Monroe’s number and immediately called him.
Cavan was worried too. Someone had gone missing right on his turf, and if anything happened to Stella, he’d feel so sorry for Kevin. Just as he was about to call the police, Kevin’s call to Monroe went through.
“Monroe, where did you take Stella? Listen up, if you dare to hurt her, you’ll have both the Carver family and Jordan coming after you,” Kevin said, his voice low and threatening.
“Kevin, can you not just accuse me without knowing the facts? I didn’t do anything to Stella. I was the one who saved her,” Monroe replied.
“Saved her? Do you think I’m buying that? You and Anna hate Stella. Everyone knows what you two want with Stella. Just tell me where you are, right now.”
“Seriously, Kevin, if I’d done something to Stella, do you think I’d even bother picking up your call?”
“Cut the crap. Just tell me where you are.”
“Densglobe Hospital.”
“If you’re not there, you’d better watch your back,” Kevin warned. With that, he hung up.
Cavan said, “I’m coming with you.”
Kevin nodded. When they arrived at the Densglobe Hospital and spotted Monroe, Kevin raised his fist, ready to punch him.
But Monroe was quick–he caught Kevin’s arm before the punch could land. “Kevin, are you crazy? Don’t you even want to hear what happened before you start swinging?”
“Yeah, I don’t care. Don’t think I don’t know how many times you hurt Stella. I don’t think you would suddenly begin to care about her.”
