Chapter51
Zane’s POV
I stare at the two empty chairs, trying to comprehend what just happened. Killian reacts before my brain can catch up. Roaring, he grabs one of the empty chairs and throws it against the wall. As the bond strains in my chest.
“WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?!” He screams. I turn to the guard who is staring at the cell with a blank face. He knows. That’s why he stayed. I can feel it, it was him who helped. Marching over to him, I grab him by the throat.
“He was supposed to be chained in silver. What happened?” I growl, on the verge of shifting and ripping this man’s heart out.
“Gone.” The man rasps out and I throw him across the hall. Hearing the satisfying sound of his head hitting the wall as Killian stomps up to him. He grabs the guard and begins delivering blow after blow. Part of me doesn’t want to stop him, but I know I have to. Unfortunately, I’ve always been the logical one and even now, with the stress, panic and anger coating me, I know that he is the only one who can give us answers.
I run to them and pull Killian off, who is now a growling mess. His eyes are fully black, indicating that Grim has taken over. He shoves me off and moves to the unconscious guard.
“I’m going to kill him.” He growls and I grab him again.
“We can kill him AFTER we get the information we need. We need to chain him and get information from him. “I rationalize and he growls in response.
“Go find Addie and bring her here. I have a feeling she would be a good candidate to get the information.” I instruct. He grunts then disappears. Thank goddess he didn’t just mindlink her, he needs time away from this scumbag to calm down.
Well as calm as he can get with our mate gone. I pick the guard up and take him to another cell, chaining him to the wall with the silver cuffs mounted to it. He is breathing heavily, but is still alive and I have to fight the urge to beat the life out of him.
“Not while he’s unconscious. He deserves the pain.” I mumble to myself.
I begin to pace, trying everything I can to reach out to Ziana through our bond. I only feel a faint glow, telling me she is still alive, but nothing else. Growling in frustration I punch the wall.
“Well that wall is certainly going to give you the answers you need.” I hear from the entrance of the cell. I turn my gaze and narrow my eyes at the intruder.
Addie lifts her hands up in a placating gesture, her hair is a nest of knots pulled back, and she is wearing sweatpants and a tank top, revealing scars on her shoulders that I never noticed. I snarl at her.
“Figure it out.” I growl, pointing to the guard chained to the wall. I recognized him as one of our newer graduation guards. Lex, if I remember correctly.
“Right. Well you seem at least halfway in control. Kill here couldn’t even put two words together to tell me what happened. So… What happened?” She asks, looking around and scrunching her eyebrows. “Where is Ziana?” She asks, continuing to look around as if Ziana is hiding in the cell wall and will jump out at any

moment..
“Gone.” I answer gruffly and her eyes widen.
“What do you mean GONE?” She narrows her eyes, then turns to look at the guard.
“She was interrogating the guy we captured and said contacts before they disappeared.” I explain and she curses under her breath, marching to the guard and eyeing him.
“And you think he is the reason for it?” She asks. I nod my head in response, because I am trying very hard not to lose my sh*t like Killian has. He hasn’t come back, so I am assuming he is raging around the forest. Addie smacks the guy’s cheek, making him jolt awake. He looks panickedly around the room and curses. “Normally, I’m more of a torture cuck, but it looks like I’m going to have to get my hands dirty.” Addis says tisking at Lex. To his credit he doesn’t even flinch.
“I need tools.” She says, looking at me. Evidently that is her asking me to grab them. I growl then stomp out of the room to the storage closet in the main building. Walking in I see a mess of tools, screws, brooms, light fixtures, mats, extra weights, and a bunch of other random things.
Grabbing a tool box and an empty duffle bag I stuff it with anything I can, then run back to the cell. Kai is watching with a grimace on his face and I realize when I walk in why.
Addie has one finger extended to reveal her sharp wolf nail. She is laughing as she uses it to cut Lex’s clothing to strips. Not bothering to pull away from his body, she cuts him simultaneously.
“You see. Lex. This is how it is going to go. I ask a question you answer. And just so we are clear, I don’t ask nicely twice. You don’t answer, I find a new and more fun way to get the answer. I can be VERY creative. We used to play a game growing up. Who can come up with the most creative way to torture a person. I won.” She says, leaning closer to him. “Every single time.” She says, threateningly.
My eyes widened. She is worse than Ziana, and I didn’t think that could be possible. I walk into the cell and place the tool box and bag on the floor, gaining Addie’s attention. Her eyes are darkened, almost as if the darkness of what she is about to do has seeped, in.
“Oh goodie.” She claps and skips over to everything, opening them and dumping them on the floor. She grabs a battery powered sander and turns it on, smiling at it.
