Whether it was before or in this life, Jaylene helped her so much.

Alaricka thought it was kind of sneaky to take Jaylene away before Kieran could, but she also felt pretty glad.

After evening study class ended, Alarieka and Jaylene rushed out of the school, rode out the tricycle, put the baking tray on it, and started the fire.

In just a few minutes, the classmates who heard the news early were already lining up in front of the stall, grabbing the baskets and squeezing together to pick out the barbecue.

In the crowd, Alaricka even saw teachers and leaders from school lining up.

She saw Reyna, and Reyna smiled at her gently.

“I’m coming, I’m coming,” the first one was a classmate from Alarieka’s class, who handed a basket of barbecue to Alaricka, “Mine, hurry up, I want to eat.”

Jaylene took the BBQ basket and sorted the food onto the grill. The smell of veggies and meat quickly filled the air.

In a flash, the shelves were already piled with the barbecue baskets that the classmates had left.

Alarieka was in charge of the dipping sauce, and Jaylene’s side hadn’t finished frying yet, so she had some time to watch the other classmates.

A lot of students kind of glanced at her, obviously still a bit wary because of the rumors about her before.

“This is Alarieka, how come she was selling barbecue with Jaylene? Wasn’t she adopted by the Argent family?”

“You forgot? She was kicked out by the Argent family before, and now she’s out of money, so she could only set up street stall.”

People whispered about Alarieka’s actions. Alarieka heard it all, but just quietly took the barbecue, dipped it in the sauce, wrapped it up and handed it over: “That’s twenty-three dollars, please scan the code.”

“Tch, I thought Alarieka was some rich princess, but now she’s just selling BBQ, right? I don’t get what she was so proud of before. Did you guys forget what she did before?”

The classmates around me all went silent.

The classmates who were excitedly picking out skewers slowed down their hands, too.

Suddenly, one of the students stood up from the crowd and said, “Did something happen? That’s all just rumors. Only you guys with big mouths are talking nonsense. There’s no proof at all.”

When one person stood out, there would be another.
