Chapter323
If after he left the Hale’s mansion, he didn’t go grocery shopping but went to Lumora Group to pick up Iris, would the result have been different?
The one who took the bullet for Iris wasn’t Heriberto.
It might have been him.
But in this world, there was never any what if.
To be exact, Heriberto pretty much saved Iris’s life with his own.
Taking a big step back, Heriberto was Ezekiel and Isabella’s biological father.
If he really died, Iris might feel bad and blame herself for the rest of her life.
“Who was the shooter? Did they catch him?” he asked.
Nathaniel shook his head.
He really had no clue about the killer, since he didn’t know what happened to Iris in Beachbourne.
Aedan probably guessed who it was.
But without evidence, he couldn’t just say things.
Luckily, Jane called soon and told them the good news.
With Laurel and the police working together, the killer was already caught.

The one who wanted to kill Iris wasn’t anyone else, it was Katrina in disguise.
Jane was there at the time and knew exactly what was going on.
To help with the police investigation, she went to the station instead of Iris.
Nathaniel hung up the phone, still looking shocked, “Did Katrina take the wrong meds? She actually wanted to kill Ira?”
“Why did she want to kill Ira, just for that jerk Heriberto?”
He was pissed off, “No wonder Heriberto showed up just in time to take the bullet for Ira, turns out he knew everything beforehand!”
“He wasn’t in cahoots with Katrina, putting on some bullshit damsel- in–distress act on purpose, was he?”
“He didn’t have to risk his life to act, and Katrina wouldn’t be dumb enough to waste the rest of her life acting with him.”
Iris just came out and heard his guess, so she explained for Heriberto.
Nathaniel and Aedan both looked up at her.
Her face was still pale, with no color at all, and her usually clear eyes were dull and lifeless now.
Aedan grabbed a shawl from the arm of the sofa and got up, striding over to her.
He wrapped the shawl around Iris and asked her gently, “Do you wa to eat first?”
Iris glanced at the almost cold dishes on the table and replied, “Okay.”

Amelia went and reheated all the dishes.
Iris sat at the dining table and just felt like everything tasted like wax
