Not Ready For My Mate novel Chapter 81

"Principals office now!"

"And that's how we ended up here." I huff and sit further into my seat. I don't even notice that I didn't stutter because I'm so mad.

"Alright, hearing the story, the three of you will receive two weeks of detention. Dismissed." I quickly stand up, wanting to get away from them. I open the door and walk down the hallway. I hear footsteps behind me but I didn't care. I feel someone grab my wrist and I instantly know who it is.

"Leave me alone Beau!" I yell at him, pulling my hand away.

"Please Izzy, just hear me out?" He pleads and makes me face him. I look up at him.

"Why Beau? Why are you here?"

"I came here for you Izzy. I'm so sorry for hurting you. I regret it everyday, please Izzy just give me another chance." I only shake my head and step away from him.

"I can't Beau. You hurt me in the worst way possible. You were my best friend since we were kids, and after one thing that happened you turned on me. Beat me. Rejected me."

I try to walk away again, knowing if I stay longer that I'll break.

"Please Izzy. I beg of you. Just one chance and if you still don't want me around, I'll leave." I look up at him and sigh.

"One chance."

"Thank you Izzy! I promise you won't regret it." He runs off leaving me there.

What did I just do?

"I can't believe you just did that." I hear Theo mutter from behind me. I turn to face him, I glare at him and turn to walk away.

Why did we ever think that this would work?

Gawd, we're so stupid. The first person we ever felt something for and it blew up in our faces. We hate being a Rejected. Was it so wrong for us to find the love most people did? We wanted a mate, someone to call ours, but the world is cruel. Well, it's not the worlds fault, its my Ancestors. We'd never blame Moona, we knew why she put that spell on them, though she didn't know it would affect us.

We sigh as we sit down on a bench, needing to just clear our minds. We run our hands through our hair and let out a long sigh. We look up and close our eyes, relishing in the heat of the suns rays. Letting our thoughts run around, not wanting to think of the pain anymore. As we sat there we feel a presence sit next to us. Feeling a poke on our arm we growled. Another poke came down on our arm, making us growl louder.

"You better stop poking me, who ever you are." We say still keeping our eyes closed.

"Well is that anyway to talk to your best friend?" We hear a familiar voice tsk while continuing to poke us. We sit up immediately and look over to the person. We look him over and see his sandy brown hair, which is shorter now, and his grey-like eyes shining brightly in our direction.

"A-Adrian?" We stutter out, flabbergasted at his presence. We reach up carefully to touch him, not believing that he's really here. He smiles and brings us into his embrace, hugging us tightly. We let out a strangled sob as we clutch him tightly to us.

We had known Adrian since we were in diapers. Uncle Steven and Adrian's parents were the best of friends as well. He was my partner in crime. When we were taken away, he was one of the people we missed the most. We always thought of him as our brother. We were always his wingmen, because knowing my best friend, he was the top player of our school. Sure we had a few girls who asked us out but we were never interested. Adrian though loved the attention, he slept with almost every girl in our school. Even though he could be a major jerk to most people he was still our best friend and we wouldn't trade him for anything in the world.
