Not Ready For My Mate novel Chapter 68

"You idiot!" I hear Alpha and Beau yell at each other but I don't listen for long because I pass out immediately from fear.

I groan as my eyes flutter open. How long have I been asleep? "Finally, you're up." I hear someone say from across me. I look around me and see I'm in one of the pack cells. I try to stand up but fall because of my ankle.

I look up at the voice and see it's Beau. "What am I doing here?" I ask him, as I see I was laying on a broken mattress. "Well our former plan didn't work so you'll stay here until our guests leave."

What!

"W-What do you mean your former plan? W-Why do you have to leave me here? Beau, please-"

"Don't you ever call me by my name again. Now, our former plan was to be nice to you, so you wouldn't blabber to our guests about us but that failed when I made that mark on your neck and when you sprained your ankle. So now we'll just keep you here until they're gone." He says nonchalantly.

"P-Please don't-"

He's gone. I curl up into a ball and try to hold back my tears. If only I hadn't asked so many questions.

I lay down and close my eyes, as I pray to the Moon Goddess for help.

Flashback

"Hey Izzy!" Beau greets me as I walk down the stairs. "Hey Beau, have you seen my parent's perhaps?" I ask him as he falls into step with me.

We walk out the pack house and see the pups running around. "I saw them walking into the woods a few minutes ago. You know they love their daily walks." He says smiling happily as one of the pups try to attack him, playfully.

"Okay." I say and we go to play with the pups.

After playing with the pups for an hour we go for our daily training session. I see Alpha Warrick, Beau's dad step up in front of us and order us to partner up. As usual me and Beau are each others partners. Well it's beneficial that the future Alpha and Beta are good at fighting each other's stengths.

"Ready to be taken down?" He mocks me as we get into fighting stance. We're not sixteen yet, so we can't change into our wolves. "Are you ready to be taken down by a girl?" I ask him smugly. We hear the whistle and lunge at each other.

We eventually pulled up to the pack house of The Dawn Pack. Mother told me a little bit about them, they're the third largest in the country and fifth largest in the world. They lost their Betas to a mysterious incident that no one has solved yet.

The current Alpha still has not given the position to his son. Probably a careless teenager, thats the only other possibility we could think of.

"Well, this is it." Father says, shutting the car off and looking at the building. We all climb out of the car and walk up to the front where we see, whats presumably, the current and soon-to-be Alphas.

"Such an honour to meet you My Queen." The older looking man greets mother politely then turns to father, shaking his hand and finally turns to us. "And you are?" He asks us, looking us up and down critically. "This is our son, Theo." Mother says holding back a glare at his slight hostility towards us.

"Oh, my apologies. This is my son Beau, I'm sure you two will get along just fine." He says and said son steps forward and shakes my hand. "Nice to meet you Theo."

"Nice to meet you too." We reply and pull our hand away from him. "I don't like these two." I say to Gage and he agrees by nodding internally.

"Alright so Beau will show you three to your rooms and my brother will show your guards where they shall sleep. My Queen, shall we talk in, say an hour or so?"
