Chapter 85
“Come on, man, stand up,” a voice gruffed into my ear, hot breath bushing against my skin.
1 blinked hard, but it didn’t help. The world was still spinning, warping, like someone had twisted the rim. I was seeing double, no, triple of meyding, not recognizing anyone standing in front of me.
“What happened to him?” a voice I recognized as Jack’s said on he put an arm under my armpit, lubling me up. Tuck, he waited“. He steadied me kees threatened to give away.
*Don’t know. Found him like this,” said the mice of the guy holding me up. “I think he’s been drinking by himself, man, I pulled tan girls off him near the pool, I think they gave him something, but he doesn’t know anything”
“Fack, olay… uh…” lack paused for a moment, thinking. “Nin, were taking you home, okay? Stay awake, alright?” he said, and I tried to nod my head in
agreement.
I tried to nod, but my head swam too violently, and the movement felt like an earthquake inside my skull but still, I was feeling great…like a Beather. And happy. So very happy. I suddenly started chuckling as lack helped me into a cab and climbed in next to me.
Home. I didn’t even know where if I had one. My own name felt foreign on my tongue, like I was speaking it for the best time in years, Jack’s words barely registered, bouncing off the fog in my brain. The sounds around me were muffled, distant. Everything felt unreal.
The moment
the music from the club faded, my head started splitting. I groaned and leaned back.
“I don’t feel good,” I mumbled slurring and lack lifted my hand and placed a bottle of water in it.
“Drink. You need to sober up and get that shit out of your system
He helped me drink the water, and I immediately felt a little better as the cool liquid ran down into my stomach, clearing my head a bit. The spinning slowed down slightly.
“Fuck” lavk suddenly said. “What’s your address again, Nika)
I shrugged, not remembering. I fumbled in my pockets and handed him my phone, keys, and wallet while clinging to the bottle of water and greedily chugging it back in my seat.
“Nike, your phone is ringing. Come on, man….. sit up straight.”

boring it, I closed my eyes and started humming a song, not registering what Jack was murmuring again. I just kept humming and welcomed the cool breeze from the rolled–down window in the backseat of the taxi.
I was so tired… Maybe I should sleep sleep. I really wanted to sleep.
“Niko?…Wait, I don’t know–shit, Niko? Are you sleeping”

I squinted, trying to focus on the room around me. I was lying on some kind of leather couch, the material roof spainit my hher skin.
I slowly threw the covers off and saw I was fully clothed in the same cutfit from last night. I was alone on the couch. It was grey in col

This made me sigh in relief as 1 fenced myself to sit up.

“You’re finally awake,” a voice said.
I turned and saw lack drying his wet hair with a towel. 1 looked at him and wondered. This was Alessandro’s house. The very thought made my stomach twist, Why did he have his hair wet, where did he shower from 71
