A FORCED CONTRACT MARRIAGE WITH THE DEVIL
Chapter 46
Greg slapped me on the shoulder again, oblivious to my internal panic, “Lonka like you already know Logan,‘ he said with a chi ke
Know him? I had last seen him in a therapist’s office, sitting across from me, preling wway my defenses with nothing hit a few well.; the last person, I wanted in sre, 1 had spent the night trying to forget about that session, shout him, and yet, here he was, verity, salch belonged in a place like this.
He wiped the sweat from his freehead with the back of his hand, then towed his gloves onto a nearby bench. “Didn’t think you were the gym he said, his voice laced with something that made my stomach tighten.
I opened my mouth to respond, but no words came out.
Logan tilted his head, his sharp eyes scanning we like lie was peeling me apart layer by layer,
Just like that time when I was at the therapist’s office.
Greg, completely unaware of the tension, chuckled. “Nikolai’s new, First day”
“That so?” Logan mused, bis lips curling slightly. “And here I thought you’d be more of a… bookshop kind of guy.”
I scowled. “What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
“You’re not exactly dressed for training” He spoke as he walked towards me
*1–I didn’t know I was going to train today so I said lamely. He shook his head, then stepped down from the ring.
Do you
have any kickboxing experience?” He asked, going over to a bench where a bottle of water was.
‘Not really. I shrugged my shoulders.
I watched him as he wiped his face with a towel and then book a drink from his bottled water before coming over to me and grabbing hold of my making me freeze unce his larger, and warm hand wrapped around my wrist
“You don’t know, logan is so good in that. He can teach you“, Greg intervened in the conversation.
Logan smirked. “You offering?”
Gorg grinned. “Hell yeah.” Then, he turned to me, grinning like he had just come up with the best idea ever. “And maybe the kid here can spar with you next
time.”
1 blanched. “What?!”
Logan raised a brow, the amusement clear in his dark eyes. You up for it, Nikolai?”
I swallowed hard, my heart hammering against my ribs.
This was a bad idea. A really had ides,
You’re in good hands, kid Greg spoke again with a wink before walking away, leaving me alone with Logan.
The air between us thickened immediately, and I could feel the weight of Logan’s stare pressing into my back like a physical force. I refused to look at him. not trusting myself to keep it together if I did.
For a moment, neither of us spoke. The sound of Greg’s retreating footsteps faded, leaving an eerie silence in their wake.
“Well,” Logan finally broke the silence, his folce casual, but there was a hint of something dark in it, something that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. “It’s nice to see you, Nikolai, Funny how we keep running into each other like this.”

I clenched my aw, fighting the instinct to tuin and glare at best, “I didn’t come here to talk to you.” I muttered, my voler enlile
“You re kinda skinny, what’s your diet like?” He changed the subject.
“I don’t really have one.
He simply gave me a look before signalling for me to follow him to where a bench and a table was inside a room, behind the ring, it looked like it wat he office as I noticed photos of him from being a professional kickboxer.
“Well since I have been told to train you, let’s fast get you on a tegime and then we can do something about you gaining sime meat on your bones. He said as I nodded my heads and watched bim grab something from inside his talde.
“Here.” He handed me a card with his name and member on
Why was he giving me this?
“I give that to all my clients, that number is for you to tell me if you’re going to be late or not showing up at all, I’m a bury guy so I don’t have time for. bullshit, understood?” He said tightly as I nodded my head and put the cand in my short pockets.
‘How old are you?” He asked, looking me over as he stood next to me.
Why did he need to know how old I was?
I shifted uncomfortably under his gaze, unsure of what to make of his sudden question Twenty–one,” I said, trying to keep my
tone neatral.
Logan didn’t respond right away. Instead, he studied me for a moment, his dark eyes scanning me with that same unsettling intensity. Twenty–one,” he repeated slowly, almost as if testing the sound of the word in his mouth
I felt my skin prickle under his scrutiny.
“Well,” he said finally, pulling a pen from his pocket and scribbling something on the back of the card before handing it back to me. That’s good. Means you’re legal.” He said it with a half–mile, but there was something off in the way his eyes lingered on me, something that made my stomach chum..
I barely held back a shiver as I accepted the card from him again, my fingers brushing against his for the briefest moment, but enough to make my pale spike.
“What does that mean?” I asked, trying to steady my voice, even though a knot was forming in my throat. Why was this guy so… wind?
Logan’s smile only widened, but it didn’t reach his eyes. “It means you’re not too young for me to show you how to get stronger. His voice dropped an octave, taking on that dangerous edge again. “We’re not here to be friends, Nikolai. You’re here to train. To become better. To roughen up.”
I swallowed, trying to keep my composure. “I can handle it,” I said, even though I wasn’t so sure anymore. The way he spoke, like there was something more to it, made me uneasy. I could feel myself wanting to back away, but something, probably that damn card kept me rooted in place.
“Good,” Logan said, his tone suddenly lighter. “Let’s see if you can keep up.” He gave a small chuckle, though it lacked any real humor.
I nodded stiffly, shoving the card deeper into my pocket. I didn’t know what this was all about–why he was suddenly treating me like a project, or what he wanted from me. But I had a bad feeling. Something about this whole situation felt like a trap.
“I’ll see you tomonow, then?” Logan said, as if nothing had happened, as if everything was perfectly normal.
