Chapter 219
As usual I did my exercise, walked, trained with my trainer, and had my medication on time, had dinner, but tonight I wasnt totally fine. Alessandro wasn’t yet back home. Every two seconds, my eyes went back to the front door, where the hell was he?
I contemplated if I should call him or not… I just wanted to know if he was alright or not. He may have gotten the FBI off his back but he had a lot of enemies–powerful enemies. Every time he walked out of the house, everywhere he went danger was always lurking around him.
Instead of Alessandro, I scrolled up and tapped on Antonio’s name. It rang and rang, again and again, but he didn’t pick up. Then I called Vladimir and his phone was turned off, which unnerved me even more.
I ran out of the house and called the guard patrolling the front door.
“Yes, Sir?”
“Alessandro? Where is he?”
“I haven’t talked to Don Alessandro since this morning…”
“Well, call him!” I snapped.
“I don’t know-
“Do it!”
He pulled out his cell phone and dialed Alessandro’s number, he put it on the speaker but it was the same with him.
My heartbeat accelerated, I made him call everyone who he thought was with Alessandro and none of them picked up, most men had their phones turned off.
“Sir, if there was something wrong, I would have known about it by now…”
I felt my anger rising. “Then why isn’t he picking up?!”
I kept calling all of them again and again until Antonio finally picked up, “Antonio, thank goodness, you picked up. Where are you, where is
Alessandro?!“,
“Uh, Nikolai, we are in the house just in the basement, there is a signal problem down there but Alessandro is c… Antonio informed me; his
voice was low.
The front door opened and I turned to it, Alessandro entered, his attention was on his cufflinks as he walked in.
“Antonio, I’ll call you
back!”
I hung up and threw my cell phone on the couch. Istrode straight towards Alessandro and raised my hand to slap him across the face. My hand stopped mid–air as Alessandro’s big hand wrapped around my wrist, his steel grip kept my arm in place and he slowly raised his face to look at me, “I think I have had enough of those…” he sneered, he was referring to me slapping him. Which I had done a handful of times now.
“Where the hell were you?” I was almost yelling.
“In the basement, had some work to do.”
“I have been calling you like crazy for the past whole day, you could’ve sent a text, or was it so hard to do?!”
He frowned, pulling me closer by the wrist he was holding, our noses almost touched. “And why would I do that?!”
Chapter 219
‘Because I’m your husband!” I snapped as a matter of factly.
