Chapter 205
We were kissing like crazy. I completely forgot about the people around us and it was at that moment I knew.
I had fallen in love with him. I didn’t know when it happened, or how it happened but it did.
I do love him.
I love Nikolai and I need him to know that.
I pulled back, my hands still on his cheeks, caressing his cheekbones as he looked up at me through heavy–lidded eyes.
“Your lips feel like heaven,” I breathed on his lips, “I think I love you, Nikolai.”
His breathing became light immediately; his mouth opened as he shuddered in my hold. Goosebumps rose all over his skin, he was astounded like he couldn’t believe the words that came out of my mouth. It was clear how much it affected him.
“Can you…” he swallowed. “Can you say it again?”
“I love you, I love you so fucking hard, Nikolai De Luca, please, don’t ever leave me again.”
His face lit up, it was like a ray of sunshine escaping the dark clouds. “I-”
A deafening sound of banging and gunfire shattered our moment. I was suddenly jolted out of my daze, and my hand immediately reached for my gun when the large wooden doors of the hall were blasted open.
Vladimir staggered in, his arm dripping with blood and splattering onto the floor. He had been shot, and his wide eyes gazed around before landing on me with fury in them.
“Alessandro!” he groaned, holding his arm tightly.
“What happened? What the fuck is wrong?” I asked, pulling out my gun, and flicking the safety off, pushing Nikolai behind me, shielding him.
“Alessandro, it’s the Salvatores. They attacked and they have Antonio, he is in a fucking bad shape. I’m not sure if he is even alive, Alessandro. They have him tied up like a fucking corpse!”
My blood ran cold, my head snapped back to the man I love.
A darkness crept over me, the same darkness I was born into. The same darkness that turns me into an animal. I felt it slowly creeping up my body, antagonizing my thoughts. My insides turned black and my heart went ice cold,
“You played me?” my voice was low, barely a whisper.
His eyes were wide, he looked between me and the large wooden door, distant gunshots rang throughout the room but I couldn’t hear them, people were frantically running all around us but I could see nothing….
Tears built up in his eyes, “No, Alessandro, I have nothing to-”
“You also said that Antonio was unharmed!” Vladimir snapped from behind me.
His lower lip quivered and I got reminded of the night he came to his room drenched in blood and lied straight to my face.
“Yes, I lied about that but Alessandro-” he tried to hold my arm.
I pushed him back, he seemed shocked by that, I surprised myself too. I placed a hand over his chest and pushed him back. I did that and I didn’t feel bad about it.
