A Forced Contract Marriage with the Devil novel Chapter 180

Chapter 180

NIKOLATS POV

The plane hit the tarmac and I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath. We stepped down the air stairs and a line of black SUVs were parked out front for me and my men.

Marco had taken care of everything, Paul Salvatore had a lot of properties in the United States, a few of which were apartment complexes, Leah told him to give me one where I will stay before meeting Alessandro.

We drove to the buildings, I checked my cell phone a couple of times as a certain restlessness ghosted under my skin.

Marco with his bodyguard nature placed a hand over the small of my back and led me to the elevators. He pushed a button that took us to the top and straight to the penthouse suites.

Salvatore’s men put my luggage and stuff into my room and went back down, leaving me and Marco alone.

If you need anything, just call me, my suite is right across from yours,Marco said before turning to walk out.

Marco

Yeah?”

Find out where Alessandro is right at this moment.

Marco frowned, Why? It was a long flight, you should rest, we will do something about him tomorrow.

I squeezed my eyes shut, I hated it whenever he tried to talk back after an order. I gritted my teeth, I’m not going to give Alessandro any more time than I already had, and also, it was an order, not a request.

His face fell before he nodded, Okay.

I sighed, You don’t know him, Marco, the more we wait, the more time we will give him to make the first move. I want to catch Alessandro off- guard.

On it, Nikolai.

I unzipped my duffel and pulled out a tailored black suit. Sharp lapels, clean lines. I didn’t know why I was putting in this much effort, maybe because I wanted him to see it. To see how steady I’d became without him. Without the man who once told me I was nothing more than weak prey without his shadow to hide behind.

I headed into the bathroom and took a quick, cold shower to clear my head. It was still early in the morning here in New York City, just around the time Alessandro usually leaves his house.

I ran a towel through my hair until it was mostly dry, then brushed it back and let it fall naturally. No fuss. I unzipped the side compartment of my bag and pulled out a pair of polished black dress shoes. Slipped them on, tied them with firm, practiced hands. Everything I wore was so expensive.

Grabbing my watch and wallet, I tucked them into place, adjusted my collar in the mirror, and exhaled slowly.

As if on cue, a knock came at the door.

Marco handed me a Manila folder, Here are the papers you requested and I have sent the location of Alessandro to your cell phone.

I pulled out my cell phone and a smirk crept up my lips, Perfect! Take me to him,I ordered.

Chapter 180

Marco stretched his hand down the hallway and I walked out of the suite. We got into the elevator as it moved down.

How many men do you want to escort you?he asked.

I shook my head, just you because you are just driving me to the location. I’ll handle the rest

He raised both of his eyebrows, Are you sure?

My head snapped towards him, I squinted my eyes, What did I tell you about secondguessing my orders, Marco?

Nikolai, it’s Alessandro, he is not the man you can-

Exactly Alessandro is just a man, I can handle him, Marco!

The elevator door slid open and we stepped out of the building. Marco had called the men to ready the car, it was waiting for us out front as we both sat inside.

At least take a few men for your security. The Salvatore have wasted a lot of money on you, if something happens to you, Leah will seriously

behead me.

I don’t want to hide behind Salvatore’s men in front of Alessandro. I want to show him that I’m not afraid of him and he holds no power over

me.

But-

Marco, do you think that I can’t handle him?

He hesitated before he closed his mouth and shook his head, Of course not but he won’t be alone. What if he kidnaps you or something?

I lifted a shoulder, He can try

I checked my cell phone and smiled. He was having breakfast with a potential business partner in one of the most expensive restaurants in New York City.

Marco stopped the car across the street from the entrance of the restaurant. I kept sitting in the car, sunglasses covering my eyes as I waited

for him to come out.

What’s the plan?Marco asked.
