Chapter 156
I killed your parents, I gave the order“,
I staggered back a step, as if the admission had physically struck me. My legs trembled, barely holding me upright. I had braced for a denial, an explanation, even a lie. Anything. But not that.
The room spun.
“You…” I choked on the word. “You what?”
Alessandro finally turned to face me then he started to laugh. Alessandro laughed in my face.
He looked like a monster a complete monster.
I couldn’t see him, all I could see was the devil,
“Why?“, I whispered, my voice barely audible. Alessandro’s laughter slowly died, the echo of it still clinging to the walls like smoke.
“Because they were in the way,” he said, as if it were obvious. As if that made it okay.
Then he took a step closer, his voice dropping lower, darker, something almost reverent in his tone.
“God made you specifically for me. That’s why I killed them.”
The words landed like a dagger in my chest.
“I’ve stopped everyone who tried to take you away from my life,” he continued, eyes locked on mine, unblinking. “I disobeyed my parents. I breached the contract with Leah Salvatore. Threw away alliances, power, everything because none of it mattered more than you.”
I stood frozen, my mind racing to keep up, to make sense of the madness unraveling before me.
“When your parents decided to collaborate with mine,” he went on, his tone now laced with disdain, “to force me to divorce you, like I’d ever let them so I made the only decision I could.”
My stomach turned and I failed to say anything.
“I decided to kill them.” He said it so calmly, “You mine fully, but don’t fucking test me. I can’t hurt you but that doesn’t mean you can do whatever the fuck you want.” When he added that, something popped in my head. I don’t know what it was. I don’t know what happened to me but blood red flooded my vision, I couldn’t see anything but red–hot anger.
“You really heartless“,
I shrieked as loud as I could and launched myself at him. I hit him as hard as I could, and he got off me standing at the edge of the bed. I saw his eyes widen in surprise.
I threw myself at him, punching, kicking, slapping, and scratching. I did everything I could.
He pulled away from me, hurriedly walked to the nightstand, and pulled something out of the drawer. Was he taking out a gun?
I jumped over him again and he turned. I kneed him on his thigh and then slammed my elbow against his face while he bent over a little. He grabbed my arms and pulled my body into him, “Calm the fuck down!” he yelled at me.
I was past my rational thinking. His words played in my mind like a siren on a loop.
“I was the one who killed your parents, I gave the order”

I screamed out, Alessandro tried harder too, but only with enough strength to just overcome me. I elbowed him in the ribs as hard as ! could.
He suddenly pushed me back on the bed, my hand pinned above my head, he sat over my legs so, I couldn’t move them either.
