“Don’t get used to it,” he muttered, grabbing another slice. “It’s my day off.”
“Your day off includes acting like a frat boy?”
“Frat boys don’t order truffle pizza,” he said, gesturing toward the box.
I narrowed my eyes at him but still drifted closer, the smell of melted cheese and garlic hitting me square in the chest. Damn him. My stomach betrayed me with a quiet growl, which of course didn’t escape him.
“You’re hungry,” he said simply.
“No shit,” I replied, walking around the couch and dropping beside him, careful not to brush against his arm. My body was still too raw.
Alessandro grabbed a slice and held it out to me without looking.
I stared at it.
Then I took it.
Just as I began eating it, my phone rang in my pocket. It was Jack calling, so I answered it immediately.
“Hey, what’s up?” I asked, biting into my pizza, as Alessandro grabbed another from the box, paying no attention to me on the phone.
There was loud music in the background and people talking, and since it was a Friday, I knew he was out with his girlfriend and our friends. I knew that for definite when I heard Liam shout my name in the background.
“Nikolai, you need to come out, man! We all miss you!” he shouted down the phone. “It’s no fun without you here!” he loudly said, making me laugh.
I glanced at Alessandro, who was completely focused on the TV, fingers greasy with pizza, not even flinching at my conversation.
I knew if I left then he’d be more pissed off with me.
“Sorry man, I’m busy right now, I can’t tonight.”
Jack groaned. “Come on, Nikolai, we haven’t seen you in ages! Come out with us, we’re all here,” he begged. “Pleasssseeee.”
I hadn’t seen them in ages, but I couldn’t just go. It wouldn’t feel right. Not when Alessandro and I were now good and fine.
“Sorry, I just don’t feel like it right now, Jack. Maybe another night?”
“Your friend is here though, that chick from the show,” he said as a girl in the background laughed loudly. “The blonde–haired with a bunch of her friends.”
he’s here
Before I could ask who the hell he was talking about, a woman’s voice started talking into Jack’s phone, a voice I would recognize anywhere.
“Nikolai, come out with us. It’s so lonely without you here, it’ll be fun, I promise.” Shan’s sweet voice came through with a moan. I also heard girls giggling in the background as the music pounded.
Shan?
What the fuck was she doing with my friends? How would she even know they were my friends? Was she stalking me now? What the hell was she playing at?

Chapter 152
I got up from the sofa and walked away as Alessandro’s eyes followed me from where he was sat on the sofa in front of the TV.
“Shan? Where’s Jack?” 1 hissed down the phone.
‘Put Jack back on the phone.”
“No,” she giggled. “He’s busy with my friend! It’s just us now, hey, where are you? I’ll come to see you,” she said, her voice low. “Just us, alone.”
