Chapter 146
ALESSANDRO’S POV
Seeing Nikolai in the daylight like that so alive, so effortlessly radiant I never thought it would have hit me like that. Just seeing him, just being near him… it was new. It was different. Even in past relationships, I had never felt that kind of quiet, overwhelming warmth. That pull toward someone, simply because they existed in front of me, laughing like the sun belonged to them.
He looked good. Better than good. I knew he had just come from a photo shoot, but still he had always looked good to me. His normally untamed hair was styled for once, framing his face in a way that made my breath catch. He wore a crisp button–down with the sleeves rolled, up, the fabric hugging his arms just right, paired with casual chinos that made him look even more relaxed, approachable, annoyingly perfect.
I leaned off my car, heart thudding with the ridiculous desire to kiss him right there in broad daylight. But I stopped myself. He wasn’t ready for people to know about us yet, to see us kissing in public and I respected that, his space, his pace. So instead, I clenched my jaw, forced my hands steady, and smiled like I hadn’t been thinking about how soft his lips probably felt.
“Get in,” I said, holding up my keys, trying to play it cool. “I want to take you somewhere.”
He raised an eyebrow but didn’t question it, slipping into the passenger seat like he belonged there. I got in on my side, buckled up, and glanced at him to make sure he did the same.
He caught me looking. “What’s brought this on?” he asked, narrowing his eyes in mock suspicion. “You’re not kidnapping me, are you? Because I have another …shoot in two hours.”
I leaned forward and turned his head with my hand on his cheek, then kissed him deeply on the lips, savoring the look on his face then I pulled away instantly. His cheeks became slightly redder, eyes wild, the look that got me every time.
I couldn’t get hard here, not when I had a plan.

“W–What are you doing?” he stuttered out, his voice small, eyes darting toward the windshield like someone might’ve been watching.
God, he was beautiful like this caught off guard, cheeks flushed, lips still parted from the kiss. I wanted to kiss him again, softer this time, slower, just to show him I wasn’t sorry for it. But I didn’t.
I smiled instead. “Reminding you I missed you.”
He stared at me, blinking, then dropped his gaze to his hands.“You could’ve just said it.”
“I know,” I said quietly, turning the key in the ignition. “But I wanted you to feel it, too.”
“What if someone saw us?”
I grinned and shook my head, then started the car. “Unless people suddenly have the ability to look through tinted windows, I d saw us, Nikolai.”
“Still,” he had said, awkwardly rubbing his legs with his hands. “Maybe they could’ve…” he muttered, his ears turning red.

He was so cute.
“To answer your question, I want you to meet someone,” I started, feeling a flicker of anxiety stir in my chest, for once of course because of him. “It’s important to me that you two meet now, rather than later.”
Nikolai, right on cue, turned and looked at me like I’d grown two heads.
“It’s not your girlfriend, is it?” he asked, making me laugh. “Or your parents again?”
“Unless my girlfriend is called Nikolai, no,” I joked, shaking my head. Nikolai didn’t say anything, he took out a bottle of water from his bag

then drunk it slowly.
I took that moment to just come out with it but there was no easy way to stop this.
He was really this uncomfortable? Now I had to wonder if this had been a mistake and if I should have just kept it to myself, but I knew I was right, and if this was going to work, Nikolai had to meet this person.
He was young and cared about what others thought of him, while I couldn’t care less because I had the power and the means to make people look away, but Nikolai was different, and I had known before going into this relationship.
Nikolai knew he had to change, to be with 20

to brace this, just enough to be with me, or else my world would eat him alive and
“Ok,” Nikolai eventually said, unbuckling his seatbelt, his face anything but happy anymore.
‘I’ll meet whoever the person is but not now.” He added but before he could open the door, I grabbed his shirt roughly and brought him close to me, where I pressed my lips hard against his, moving them against his dominantly as he squirmed against me, but I kept him close, letting him taste me as I opened my mouth.
