My Substitute CEO Bride (Nash Calicraft) novel Chapter 2760

“Oh, I see... You're leaving this place...” There was a hint of disappointment in Tamsine’s expression. She was not sure who she was in Fogort’s eyes, nor did she know if she had any reason to continue following him.

After loading the luggage into the car, he closed the door. Tamsine got in the car and glanced at the man through the rearview mirror. He instinctively moved to light a cigarette when he noticed her watching him from the driver's seat.

Fogort paused midway, then opened the car door and got inside.

“Let’s go."

“It’s fine... I can wait,” Tamsine replied calmly.

Fogort shook his head. “No, I’m quitting starting today.”

“Why?”

Fogort casually mentioned, “Because it’s not good for the child.”

At these words, Tamsine’s face turned incredulous. “Child? What child?”

“Huh?” Fogort scratched his head. “Our child, of course."

...

In the god realm, Dusky was kneeling before the divine emperor. "Your Majesty, this is what has happened. Although Nash has obtained the Six Ritualistic Weapons, part of their power has not been fully awakened yet. What are your next instructions?"

Xenoth did not respond immediately and instead gestured for Dusky to withdraw. At the silent command, Dusky moved to leave and removed himself completely from matters concerning the human emperor.

However, just as he was about to rise, Xenoth called out to him again.

"Wait."

Dusky turned his head and bowed respectfully. "Do you have further instructions?"

"What is it?" Xenoth asked in a voice filled with authority.

The figure, cloaked in black, knelt before Xenoth. "Are you truly at ease handing that matter over to Ruin?"

Xenoth scoffed. "Are you questioning my judgment?"

The figure quickly bowed his head. "No, no, I wouldn’t dare. It’s just that..." He paused for dramatic effect, but seeing that Xenoth was not acknowledging him, he continued on his own, "Do you really trust Ruin that much?

"Regardless of the circumstances, he was once a god of the West. Entrusting the selection process and that matter to him might be somewhat ill-advised, don’t you think?"

"Is that so?" Xenoth closed his eyes dismissively. "Why don’t you share your thoughts, then?"

"I believe it would be more appropriate for us, the natives, to handle this matter ourselves," the figure suggested.
