Now under the control of the Sky Reflector Mirror, Reese trembled violently. Time was running out! If Nash did not get Reese out of here, both of them could die. Alternatively, Nash could leave Reese behind and escape on his own.
As Nash hesitated, a dark mist suddenly covered Reeseβs face. Nash recognized it as it was similar to the techniques used by the Genii that allowed the deities into a person's body. The mist transformed into a monkey's face.
Reese grasped at the air, and natural true energy coalesced into a staff-like weapon in his hands. Without warning, Reese charged at Nash.
Reacting quickly, Nash cast a binding array to temporarily restrain him. However, Reese activated the Skyshard Armor and neutralized Nashβs attacks. Left with no choice, Nash used more arrays to slowly outmaneuver Reese while trying to lure him to the mountain gate.
He had a hunch that if they could leave this area, where natural true energy was abundant, Reese might regain his senses.
However, Nash had underestimated the power of the Sky Reflector Mirror. As he inched closer to the gate, the mirrorβs attacks grew fiercer, and Nashβs arrays began to falter under the increasing pressure.
Nash absolutely could not activate the Heaven-Shaking Tome again as doing so would certainly lead to his death. The Bead Union Art had already taken a significant toll on his body. His true energy was nearly depleted, and if he switched between the two different powers too frequently, he would likely collapse from exhaustion.
At this moment, Nash genuinely did not know what to do. He could escape, but leaving Reese and Otto behind felt too cruel. Just as he was lost in thought, Reese closed in on him.
Nash froze, realizing that he had been caught in a daze that was likely the mirror's doing.
"You think... you can control me...with something like this?!" Reese's right hand reached for the mask while his left hand kept trying to stop it. He was actually resisting the Sky Reflector Mirror's control!
His right hand was already touching the mask, but it seemed like every other part of his body was fighting to prevent him from removing it. Yet, Reese continued his struggle, determined to break free.
"You'd better... behave! You weapon!" he growled.
At that moment, streams of natural true energy surged from all directions.
