My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 731

That night, we hugged each other in remorse.

Love was a source of strength. Love was about giving and not taking. Patience and support were of utmost importance.

Hendrix said, "I don't want to go through what I went through those four years again. Those days were too long and lonely."

I teared up. "There won't be another four years. We're going to be together for the rest of our lives."

He held my body close, and said in a low voice, "Arianna, tell me that you love me!"

I raised my head, looked at his well- defined features, and said with certainty and earnestness, "I love you, Hendrix."

His smile was as bright as the sun. "I love you too."

This was the first time we told each other how we truly felt.

He said, "Thank you!"

I was startled, "What for?"

Thank you for loving me. Thank you for coming back.

Winter in Jarold city was long. It usually lasted from November all the way until February or March.

Anne had a cold, and I couldn't wake her up in the morning.

Hendrix wasn't around but he left a note on the bedside table. He wrote, "It's cold outside. Remember to wear more layers when you head out and drink more warm water."

I smiled faintly and kept the piece of paper.

Looking at Anne's little blushed face, my heart ached. In the end, I decided to call Josiah.

"Hi, Arianna." The man's voice was cold and distant.

I couldn't be bothered. After a moment of silence, I said, "Doctor Saunders, could you come to the eastern suburbs? Anne has a fever, and the hospital tends to get crowded. I'm afraid that she'll catch something more serious if I send her there."

This was an excuse, but it was a start.

Josiah went silent for a moment before he answered, "Alright!"

I was surprised to hear his instructions. "The weather is so cold now. Will she be okay if I turn the heater off while she has a fever?"

He stopped what he was doing and raised his eyes at me. He narrowed his eyes and asked, "Are you the doctor or am I?"

"You..." I shut my mouth and went to the kitchen for the ice cubes. I did what he asked; I turned the heater off and found blankets.

After everything was done, I went back into the room. He frowned slightly when he saw me. "Go wait in the living room. I've got this."

I wanted to say something, but he didn't seem to want me there. I also realized that I was not dressed in enough layers.

I then left Anne's bedroom. There was a fireplace in the bedroom which Hendrix had asked a worker to come over every early morning to light up. It would last the entire day, so the room wouldn't be cold at all.

About half an hour later, Josiah came out of Anne's room. He placed the first-aid kit on the table and went to wash his hands in the kitchen.

He said, "The fever has subsided. Stay home for a couple of days and take good care of her. Let her have light food, and don't let her eat anything sour, spicy, oily or fried."

After a pause, he added, "I've left the medicine in the room. She only needs to take it once a day. You don't have to give her too much. Kids shouldn't take too many drugs anyways; there could be side effects."

I nodded. Standing next to him, I saw dark circles under his eyes. He was clearly sleep deprived.
