My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 705

She probably started catching feelings for Hendrix at the dinner party four years ago. After she joined Roberts Group, she slowly worked her way towards becoming Hendrix's secretary.

he went to Josiah because of a word from me. She was smart and knew how to handle herself but one should always be responsible for our own choices.

As arrogant as she was, these words definitely struck her where it hurt. Fortunately, there were bodyguards following me. When she came forward swearing at me, she was immediately halted by the bodyguards.

I went straight into the elevator. As the doors before me closed, I saw her getting so mad, it was as if she couldn't care less about her image. How pitiful that she could not get what she wanted.

In the hospital ward, Yana's face was pale and gaunt. When she saw me, she struggled to flash me a faint smile.

I could not help but feel sorry for her. "Are you feeling better?" I was not the best at providing verbal comfort, but I did feel incredibly sad looking at how she was.

She nodded and lifted her hand to pat the space next to her. Her voice was a little hoarse as she said, "Yes, I do. Even though I was put under anaesthesia, it still hurts a little."

I reached out to hold her. Before the child was born, the anaesthesia was injected into her tailbone, so she wouldn't feel pain when she went into a coma, but once she regains consciousness after the effects of the anaesthesia have passed, she would experience the kind of pain that would be unforgettable for the rest of her life.

I understood this perfectly well.

I held her cold hands in mine, and rubbed them to try to warm her up, "Have you eaten anything yet?" She nodded. Perhaps it was because of my actions, the rims of her eyes became a little red and swollen, "The doctor only allowed me to have some porridge. I just had some."

I nodded. After hesitating for a while, I asked, "Is your baby alright?"

She nodded slightly and her lips were dry, "He's still in the incubator and may need to recuperate for a while. He's not in good health."

After hearing this, I felt relieved. I said with a smile, "It's okay. Just take good care of your child in the near future and all will be fine. Anne was also a premature baby. When she was young, her body was small and thin. But look at her now, she's so full of energy and so clever."

I got up and moved aside. Two nurses helped her bend her legs and then pressed on her slightly bulging belly.

She bit her lips in pain as she suffered in silence. Tears could be seen streaming form the corners of her eyes.

In just two minutes, the two nurses left, and she calmed down eventually. I kept my emotions steady and pulled the quilt over her. I held her hand, not knowing what to say.

She looked at me and forced a shallow smile. "It doesn't hurt that much. It's just all in our head."

These words were obviously meant to comfort me. I looked downwards and my heart ached for her.

After a pause, I said, "This pain...I've been through it before." But at the time, all my emotions had been focused on my lost baby, so the physical pain I felt was put on the backburner.
