She frowned, feeling a little unhappy, "But you're the Moore Family's daughter. It's a fact."
"So what?" I looked at her emotionlessly, "I've never thought of recognizing it. Since they've already recognized Andrea, they shold just take her as the Moore Family's daughter."
She sighed, "You weren't able to get over it after all." After a pause, she stopped mentioning it and said to me, "I'm getting married in October. Make sure you attend then. Don't leave me hanging"
I was stunned, "To whom?"
"A man! You'll know when you're there."
This was a surprise!
It was getting late, and after Hendrix's meeting, he still had something to discuss with Freya, so I got up and went to Anne's school to pick her up.
Upon exiting the Roberts Group, I, unfortunately, bumped into Josiah, who was also leaving at the same time.
I'd been trying to avoid him. However, he unexpectedly looked towards me and greeted me. "Where are you going? I'll give you a lift!" "There's no need!" After what happened with Monique, I was no longer fond of him. I was not interested in learning his side of the story because he was still partially responsible for what happened to Monique.
He frowned and followed me, "It's raining outside.
I don't have any plans. I can give you a lift."
I stopped in my tracks and turned around to look at him, "What do you want?"
He frowned and nodded, "I want to have a meal with her."
He was referring to Anne.
I pursed my lips. Ultimately, Anne was still his daughter.
After a long silence, I said, "Alright, but only this onetime."
He seemed surprised at my response. He looked at me with a dazzling smile and said, "Okay, great!"
"Let's go. I'm going to pick her up. We'll go together!" I said, then directly got into my car.
He followed right behind. It was drizzling outside. Traffic jams were a frequent occurrence in Jarold City, especially when it rained.
During this period of time, Hendrix and Anne had gotten closer as though he was her father. Anne relied on him more now.
I took her school bag and said, "He's very busy. He's in a meeting and couldn't make it."
Anne pursed her lips and nodded obediently. She looked up and saw Josiah, who was standing beside me, staring at her.
She thought for a while and said, "Aren't you the man who was standing in front of Mama Monique's grave?"
I was somewhat astounded at Anne's memory. It had only been one encounter, and she remembered it.
Josiah nodded. He mustered a smile as his gaze on her grew more solemn.
After we got into the car, Josiah seemed a bit nervous and didn't say anything. He just kept looking at Anne.
I asked Anne, "Anne, what would you like to eat?"
After some thought, she said seriously, "This morning, Mr. Roberts said he would take me out to have steak. Mommy, are we going to see Mr. Roberts later?"
