Sierra was stunned. "What do you mean?"
"What I mean is, you're nothing compared to Arianna's appearance and talent, let alone family background. Who's your mother? Who's Arianna's father? Don't you have any idea? If it were me, I would've already sent someone to kill you for framing her. Arianna was brought up well, so she didn't bother getting back at you. However, I heard that even though Charles is a man of integrity, he's extremely protective of his people, and I heard your mother has a criminal record. He doesn't even need to look for a reason to get you in trouble. All he'd need is a minor mistake, and he can get both of you in jail. You'd be lucky if you can get out of it alive!"
Freya obviously meant to scare Sierra, and the latter seemed to have taken it in. Her face was ghastly as she looked at Freya and said, "You're saying that Arianna is Charles's daughter?"
Freya shrugged, "So you've never taken a look at old news before? I'll give you a hint, go search for the news from four years ago. Perhaps you'll learn something out of it."
"Impossible!" Sierra looked like she was falling apart, "Nerissa said Arianna was an orphan. She only married Hendrix back then because Master Roberts had taken a fancy to her. How could she be Charles's daughter?"
"I see!" Freya looked at me and raised an eyebrow. She laughed and said, "I was wondering how she knew so much about you. Apparently, you offended Nerissa. How did you get on her bad side? Didn't you say you've been gone for four years? How did you end up provoking an enemy as soon as you're back?"
I shrugged, "I don't know how to explain it to you. In short, it's water under the bridge."
She snorted and looked at Sierra with disdain, "Sorry to disappoint you, but her parents are still alive and well. Darling, make sure you use your brain next time. Don't pull the trigger for someone else."
I was stunned as I looked at her. "I left in a hurry, so I didn't put too much thought into things. I just returned to Jarold City not too long ago too, hence..."
"That's enough!" She pursed her lips and said, "I heard what happened back then. No one could've accepted how things unfolded. But what's happening with you and Hendrix? Didn't both of you get divorced? What's going on now? What are you thinking?"
How could I begin to explain? I wasn't able to answer her at the moment.
Noticing my silence, she sighed and stopped asking. She entered the lounge with me and sat down, then looked at me and continued, "The Moore family knows that you've returned. What are your plans? To just pretend that nothing ever happened with the Moore family?" "The Moore family no longer has anything to do with me. Since the start, I've never intended to get involved with the Moore family. I came back to Jarold City so that my daughter can have a good future. As for everything else, I've not considered it, nor do I want to!" If it wasn't for Anne's future, I would be more than happy to stay in Hovell for the rest of my life.
